BillyGoat with Aj and Peter. Went alright. Felt really bad for the first couple controls and was very much just following AJ and Peter. By the end of 4 I was feeling better and started actually navigating. However by the end I was definitely feeling the 3 weeks I took off for my ankle. Navigationally was again alright. Really messed up 7 and 17. Interestingly the mistake was very similar in both, I got to a trail and took a bad bearing off. I think this is do from lack of confidence or over confidence. The lack of confidence comes from me second guessing where I hit the trail and then changing my bearing. The over confidence comes from me thinking the last part of the leg will be easy so I don't check my bearing carefully. Either way something I'll have to be careful with in coming trainings. Besides those mistake just minor mistakes entering controls. Probably lost 7 minutes to "avoidable" errors. And another 3 - 5 from being out of shape (for example spending 3 minutes getting water in a race). On the plus side my ankle hurt rarely during the race and not at all afterword.
