Orienteering race (Middle M21E) 1:58:01 intensity: (48:01 @2) + (1:10:00 @4) 6.8 km (17:21 / km) +347m 13:50 / km
ahr:134 max:186 shoes: Innov8 X-Talon 212s

Very hot. Car thermometer said 35 deg C when we finished. Tricky course with most of the 470m climb in the first half (5 km course so this is well over 10% climb in the first half). I called it off halfway, without water I was feeling pretty nauseous. First time I've ever dnf'd a race by choice and felt pretty crap, but it just wasn't happening.

Spin on the road bike after orienteering. Very heavy headwind, took an hour to go out and about half that to get back.

SI Champs Long Distance on the new Campbell Farm (Fishermans Creek) map. Nice map, very much a runners race with long legs and good route choice problems. Five mistakes:
1. Forgot to punch controls at water stations, opps
2. Abandoned my plan for a long leg and totally overran control
3. Lost orientation and did two sides of a triangle by mistake
4. Two small 'in the circle' errors
I also wasn't running fast enough, had plenty more speed available, but until I reduce the errors I'm happy with this.
