Orienteering race (Long) 1:53:49 [3] ***** 9.52 km (11:57 / km) +221m 10:43 / km
ahr:141 max:179 shoes: Icebug Acceleratis

Nationals Long. DNF due to ankle injury.
Good race, again felt well prepared and focused out of the start, good run into controls 1 & 2. Got waylaid by a sneaky hill on the wy to control 3 but caught it and didn't loose to much time. All OK till 7 where I dropped off a fast paddock dash into an area of intricate detail without slowing down - and really paid for it dashing up and down a river valley for several minutes. Then all OK till 11 where I ended my race with an incautious fence crossing, rolling my ankle (the other one this time!). Had been really enjoying the race so a disappointing way to end the weekend I've been working toward for 18 months. The sprint result is a pretty good consolation prize though, and feeling very pleased with where I've got to skill wise in the longer races. So happy overall.

Orienteering race (Middle) 1:09:14 [4] ***** 6.63 km (10:27 / km) +216m 8:59 / km
ahr:161 max:195 shoes: Icebug Acceleratis

Nationals Middle.
Not a good race, threw my plan out the window early on and didn't replace it with anything. Never really got in touch with the map all day, just blundered my way between controls with the barest minimum of map contact. Didn't see all the route choices available.

Orienteering race (Sprint) 15:48 [5] **** 3.65 km (4:20 / km) +3m 4:19 / km
ahr:168 max:214 shoes: Ascics Gel-Pulse 7

Nationals Sprint, 1st place M21A.
Good race, felt very focused and prepared (had a plan) heading out to the start but not rushing. Got in touch with the map and didn't lose touch once till the end. Need to go back and have a good look at route choices but had decided not to spend much time deciding between routes but to just go for it. M16 were running this course and I was still well behind their times - something to work on!
