Orienteering 45:00 [1] 3.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Secret orienteering.

Orienteering 1:07:02 [4] 6.01 mi (11:09 / mi)
ahr:170 max:182

RMOF, Pelican Bay (east). Red course, 8.2 km straight line. I had chosen red because I wanted to win/be Western states champ. This of course put pressure on me - to have expectations. The warmup went fine, a little winded because of the elevation, but I figure it effects me less than others. Ham felt fine on the warmup and I was hopeful it was going to be a non-issue. Having expectations for results is never good and me HR at the start, just standing there having not done any running for a good 10min, was 130. After the common control, I couldn't get locked into the map and lost time wandering by the wrong rocks, biggest mistake on the day. I stumbled going to 3 which cause my ham to tighten right up, so I had to be about my speed, never tried to go top end for fear of causing real damage. The ham held together and I managed to run a good pace. 9 I over shot the ridge the control was on, not sure why, 12 I went to a cliff too high up even though I knew it was the wrong one, got off course leaving that one so I was forced to go over a big hill, didn't find the gap I was looking for going to 14. I wasn't expecting much with results as I didn't feel stellar either with speed or fine detail navigation (often just generally going the right direction...), but was pleasantly surprised by the results:

Road Bike 36:00 [1] 6.08 mi (5:55 / mi)

Just wanted to get a short ride in. Was going to do rt. 34 trail and then lap around J-Jones neighborhood. Got a flat just as I got into the J-Jones neighborhood. Did a terrible fix (the pump which was somewhat expensive and recommended to me by the bike shop sucks, and I bought two) and rode back, getting two more flats. I think they mowed or some construction vehicles put a bunch of thorns on the rt. 34 trail. Ultimately made a call for a pickup.

Trail Run 20:00 [1] 2.41 mi (8:18 / mi)

Running club. Workout was 5x5 min. Planned on taking it somewhat easy as I was tired earlier in the week. Off the line on the second one my left ham tightened up, so ran the rest easy.

Road Run 16:00 [1] 1.6 mi (10:00 / mi)

Across campus and back.

Road Bike 56:00 [1] 13.71 mi (4:05 / mi)
ahr:120

The 16th to other trail, dog park, and back loop. I felt exhausted, HRM wasn't working the best, but even when it was it was serious work to get the HR to 120 - legs were dead. Nice cooler day though and nice to get out just the same.

Trail Run 1:36:00 [1] 9.15 mi (10:30 / mi)
ahr:130

Bobcat ridge, out to the cabin, DR trail, Power Line, west side of Valley Loop trail. Its been quite a while since I've been to the cabin, it's now done up as a real cabin (doors, windows, nick-nacks) - no more magpies hanging out in the rafter as it is enclosed with wainscoting. Its been even longer since I've run the DR trail, its really nice and maybe my favorite. Felt good despite long workout yesterday, but my left Achilles felt a big tight at times. On the warm side but not too bad.
