Classic Ski 3:19:00 [1] 23.33 mi (8:32 / mi)
ahr:137

The day of truth for the heel. Used the 9.1 classic boot on the right with two heel cups (used the S-labs on the left). Heel made it through the entire ski with no major discomfort or pain. Towards the end, certain herring-bone motions made me notice it a bit more, but overall, heel was not much worse than skating. I think the two heel cups and the 9.1 boots is key. Probably 3" fresh overnight at Frisco Peninsula, so skiing was quite nice if not a bit slow. Weather ranged from sunny mid-20s to overcast and snowing to snow squalls (of course I was on the exposed peninsula top when it hit) that filled in all the tracks. It was such a long ski that I obviously saw a lot. Here's the short list: snowshoe hare, 3 "dude" snow bikers on the ski trail f-ing up the tracks (I yelled at them, I know at least a couple others did as well), mustachio man (sadly he didn't do the O yesterday), a piston bully suck in the snow (the driver was just lying across the seat with his legs up).

Ski-O at Frisco. A fun ski, though the elevation at 9000'+ really makes hard skiing hard. Lots of decisions regarding whether to take the snowshoe trail or not. A few times it was clear the snowshoe trail was the wrong decision as slogging through knee deep powder with skis in hand usually means you picked wrong. HRM was wonky, so a total guess.

Classic Ski 15:00 [1]

Forgot HRM. Tried classic skiing, but it hurt the heel. I'll give it one more try with different boot/heel riser combo this weekend.

Classic Ski Poles Only 1:26:00 [1]

At the Jack, kept to the flatter trails: Phil's, tie city, gobi, upper, went down to Blackjack for a couple of laps, coming back on roller coaster was tough in one section. Quit when the day light was pretty much gone.
