Orienteering 48:06 [4] 5.14 mi (9:21 / mi)
ahr:173 max:186

Rocky Mt. State Games, "blue" course, 8.0 km straight line. Ran well and ran hard, the 7250' elevation certainly is noticeable. Only issues were lost track of map going to 10 but luckily saw the control from the trail (wasn't sure it was it, but checked it and it was), saw the blue streamer on 14 and went to check it out and it was it, going to 21 got caught up a ridge too soon. Placing my track on the map reveals that there is some spatial referencing issues, I had to move my track a lot to get it to match what I did, also some man-made features are off a bit, this explains why I would be a bit off going to controls here and there (certainly not all, I'm not that good). Regardless, it was super fun and I managed to take the gold, successfully defending my gold from last year. Also was the "All Course Champ" A more difficult feat in foot-o than ski-o.

Orienteering 37:00 [2] 2.79 mi (13:16 / mi)
ahr:130

Went out to get some more time and re-run the legs that could have been better (9-10, 13-14, 20-21). Going at the slower pace I was able to perfectly navigate, its always the trick to navigate that well when running near max speed, trying not to fall down, and at HR of 170, all at the same time.

Road Bike 1:27:00 [1] 22.59 mi (3:51 / mi)
ahr:124

Hot, temps in the mid-90s when I left the house. 28th to 4th, then along the Poudre and the burbs, out to 95th, back on 20th.

Road Bike 1:18:00 [1] 21.35 mi (3:39 / mi)
ahr:121

Pretty good ride, was able to push pretty hard in a number of locations. Went out the rt 34 trail, worked over to Sheeps Draw, then back on the trail and 11th. did an out and back on 65th as they just laid fresh pavement but the road is still closed. It has bike lanes now, but it will be a busy road when it opens.

Road Run 22:00 [4] 3.87 mi (5:41 / mi)

Running club, at Heath. 7, 4, 7, 4 min. Ran really well. GPS was a bit short because I definitely hit 1200m on the last 4min (hence 5:20 mile pace). Reported paces were 5:49, 39, 50, 27. Surprised how quick I was, wrist HR seems to be right on, and certainly nicer than the chest strap.

Road Run 30:00 [1] 3.19 mi (9:24 / mi)

Thunder storms ruined the afternoon, squeezed in a quick run around Glenmere just as the sun went down.

Orienteering 1:00:04 [3] 5.86 mi (10:15 / mi)
ahr:151 max:171

Met up with Swampfox and his buddy Dave at the remarkably flat, Remarkable Flats. Swampfox went all out and set Dave and I up with contour and rock detail only map, a ~10 km course with controls, a call up line, and even punch cards. I ran really well, my head was focused and I read the terrain well. Only a small hiccup going to 11 (afterwards Swampfox thought that area wasn't mapped well).

Orienteering 1:05:00 [2] 6.33 mi (10:16 / mi)
ahr:142 max:167

After a nice long chat with Dave and Swampfox, went out to run some more. Swampfox gave me a regular map with the same course and I ran 15, 1, 5, 17, 7, 9, 11, 13, 10, 8, 6, 4. Legs all seemed like new. My navigation was really good again. Started to die going to 4.

Note

Keep your eyes open for something orienteering in nature on Labor Day weekend...
