Aimed to go as far as I could running. Got to part way up the last climb where I slipped on some snow on some steps and completely lost my rhythm.
50mins up, 15 down.....!!

Last leg (light green) of the Moravian Christmas Handicap Relays at Brodie. Emily and Dad on the first two legs put me out in 3rd, but with Jon and Andrew not too far behind.
Jon passed about half way round and Andrew just right at the end. Not feeling too bad actually and nav was fine (would be kinda worried if it wasn't on that...)

BASOC Score Event
8 controls which had to be done in order, with lots of others which could be done whenever. Except for one minor bit, I think my route round them all were ok. Missed one - just completely didn't see it on the map, but ran right past it - exactly the same mistake as spongey!
One other mistake where I got distracted by what Hector was doing so had bad direction out of a control

Warm-up round the field then the route on Cluny Hill
6xDiagonal hills (start at the top of the avenue, down the lower path then up the diagonal and stop at the top) - recovery back down the short bit.
Ran "with" Lauren (kept with her for the first 3, she had to wait at the top for the last 3...)
Good session anyway and feeling good
Jog back down with Lauren

Really struggled through 4x5mins(90secs). Ran all but the first with Lauren who came after gymnastics. Feeling pretty sick and just wasn't feeling it. Also super windy

BASOC Event - Achlean
Pretty stop on navigation, apart from no.9 - coming from rough contours into really intricate stuff. Took a really accurate bearing (or so I thought) from the track junction which just didn't end up on line, then unable to relocate. Went out to the road and then to the ride before eventually just stumbling across it. (-7mins?)
Taking it nice and easy to test my foot. Strapped it. Not sore at all (except slightly if I was going fast downhill). Really good sign, time to start training again?

SEDS Christmas "Peg" Relay - Uath Lochans
Mass Start, instead of pegs was Christmas items (tinsel, stocking, bauble etc)
Didn't look at my map much for the first few controls, but then started doing it properly and taking different rough choices. Again really accurate with my navigation, and considering I haven't ran in 10 days, the fitness wasn't bad either.

Note

So my ankle is still really bruised over quite a big area and gets hot if I've been using it. Swelling has gone down lots though. Not sore at all walking around during school, but begins to hurt if I walk for a bigger distance. Also sore if I point my toes up or down. Seems a lot worse than when I've done it in the past.
Gonna go swimming tomorrow morning which will hopefully stretch it out a bit, but then I'm down in Liverpool at an interview until Friday so won't do anything else. Then just see how it is for Achlean on Saturday

Northern Night Cup - Ellen Wood (Carrbridge)
Remembered to properly charge my head torch tonight!!! Took the first control easy to get used to the scale. Orienteering pretty well from then on, one small mistake in the butterfly. Heather was really tough going so took the paths wherever possible.
Went over my ankle at no.12!!!!! :((( ahhhhh!! Felt a crack. Walked slowly to 13 then tried to jog again. Pretty sore so ended up walkin quite a lot. The next few controls all had reasonable path options so took them and jogged. Got progressively worse so I bailed at 17 and walked back. Mum thinks it is seperate to when I've done it before which is a positive. Seems worse than I've don't it before though (normally it would get better to walk if I carry on etc and it was really painful even just sitting down) think it was probably a bad idea trying to carry on.

Set off a bit slower on the first one than I would normally which I think really helped later on. Ran with Kirsty the whole way which was good motivation. Felt like I was running really well and strong. Absolutely minging weather and soaking ground all the was through.

UCD Intervarsity Sprint
Pretty good run, one mistake where I thought I could get through somewhere from the map, but actually couldn't on the ground, then another control I just couldn't see when I got there. Other than that really smooth and seemed to be running well.

Started with dad, but then ran with Ros and Nadine when we caught them up and let dad go off. Feeling alright running, just chatting pace, but feeling pretty tired.
Got back to the car after 50mins, so ran down to the vets to make it up to an hour
