Still can's speak properly, but also got a streaming nose and i cough every time I take even a slightly above average breath in, therefore decided not to run at all at the UCDO training this morning. Still went for the fresh-air and for the regular abuse throwing at Niall though...

Really nice, easy, social long/hill run with Ruairi, Roisin and Aoife. Beautiful bit of path in the woods up the river, then into the hill at the top. Bit of an adventure with none of us quite knowing where we were going. Turned a bit eventful when Roisin and Aoife took a wrong turn without me and Ruairi realising, so about 15 minutes waiting, running back to try and find them, and shouting later we headed back to the car and thankfully they appeared soon. Only mild panic...

Felt pretty bad at the beginning, but settled into it. Tough set, but pushed hard. Definitely need to give my calves some attention - always feel painful, even on the slowest jogs. Feel a bit better temporarily after stretching, so maybe they're just super tight.

Nice adventure in Phoenix Park with Eadaoin, then Conall, Zac and Ruairi at the end. Pretty slow but it was fun. Saw some exciting things, some hella weird things, and someone famous (who knows who.... getting a police escort). Also slightly worrying that I was leading the run choosing where to go, but I had never been here before, and have no idea the geography of it, but somehow we made it back to the car - success!

The Pine Forest - local league event
Pretty grotty area, even though I am assured this is one of their best... Legs feeling pretty tired from the get go, and never really managed to kick them into racing, especially on the really steep terrain. Nav was a bit sloppy meaning a lot of small time-losses mainly in the circles, and seemed to just loose all ability to make decisions towards the end of the race - not exactly ideal...

Couple of laps of the pitches to warm up followed by drills (unlogged). 4x6mins[90secs] around the pitches. Really rainy made it tough. Ran with Meabh for the first 3, but she broke me a bit at he end of the third, so ran with Roisin for the last but then broke her...
WD back to the flat via Merville to pick up a parcel

SHI Relay -
Team of Kirsten Maxwell, Me, Madara Brice
Was set off in 2nd being chased down by Emma, Kim and Cat. Surprisingly enough, Cat passed by no.2, and Emma wasnt too long after. (Didn't see Kim, but she also passed around this point...). Once I was then in a more accurate position I settled in to it and started enjoying it more. Made a couple of mistakes, but generally OK.
Team finished 6th, not bad for Scotland3!

SHI Individual - Florencecourt
Didn't really get my warm-up right as there wasn't much space up at the start (which I was told before I left, but thought I could jog to the start but it was rather too steep...), therefore took a while to really get in to the running. Felt really slogggish going up the hill to 1 and half of 2. Caught Emir (6mins) at 3, but passed her properly when I took a better route choice to 5 (round the path), and got a boost from having passed her so felt really strong for the rest of the course. Good to see I have to stamina to still be racing strong at 70mins ish, especially in this tough moorland hilltop terrain. No mistakes as such either, a couple of slight misses in the control circles, but nothing major.
4th W20... Really happy with this result

Easy with Conall and Ruairi all the way around the edge of UCD, then onto the playing fields for some short, fast efforts (3 of them - jogging back to the start between each one), then slow jog back to the flat. Good chat, good to explore campus
