Sunday Mar 6, 2016 #

Orienteering race 43:44 [3] 5.3 km (8:15 / km)

1. Running from start to 1 felt like I wouldn't be able to finish due to ankle, yet after that I don't remember it bothering me for the rest of the course.
2. Took the trail along the river and cut in along the larger trail.
3. Went straight up and took the trail leading to the water tower.
4. Passed by the water tower using the trail.
5. Cut out to the road and then back into the park.
6. Took the larger trail and then cut in after the distinctive tree to the north.
7. Went east and up next to the water tower and then west to the control.
8. Followed trail and then followed the trail along the powerlines, up near the building. Made a mistake and went through the dark green after the fenced off portion. Found sleeping bags and beer bottles where I proceeded with caution. Lots of pointy plants also.
9. Straight to point
10. Went around the east side of building..
11. Straight down hill.
12. Went up the stairs and through the buildings.
13. Straight to point.
14. Made a mistake, went through the parking lot to the trail. Thought I was farther east than I was. Went up the hill one more time than I should have checking for control.
15. Went along trail to the north.
16. Straight down trail to building.
17. Straight to tree.

Saturday Mar 5, 2016 #

Orienteering race 1:25:44 [4] 5.1 km (16:49 / km)

Took 1:25:44. Interesting place, first time running in thick green vegetation and forest as southern california has quite different terrain.
1. Overshot cost a few seconds
2.took the trail on the west side, used powerlines and went straight to control.
3. Followed the powerlines/trail to the hill and cut in
4.Had trouble on this point, went straight from point 3 following the trail yet got lost and didn't know how far in I was. Eventually went out and followed the trail on the east and went up the spur and found the point.
5. Went back through the spur along the trail and just scanned and found the point.
6. Used the trail on the Left and went around.
7. Overshot this point and ended up at the roundabout at the end of the trail, then went back and straight to point.
8. This point took a while, went in and back out to the trail twice and finally found it as others were congregating near it.
9.Followed the trail, at this point there were lots of other guys following each other.
10. Went straight using the trail to orient and to the control.
11. Used the trail and cut in.
12. Went south and hit the trail along the fence then straight through the brown.
13. Followed the trails and cut in.
14. Went through the marsh and straight to the point.
15. Took the trail directly to the point.
16. Took the long trail around, accidently went looking for the point in the brown yet soon realized my mistake.

19. Embarrassingly overshot and went too far east.
Twisted my ankle due to shoe laces coming untied like 5 times. Kept on having to stop to lace up the laces.

Biked approx 3.3 mi from space needle to international district in downtown Seattle. Easy ride. Some of the bike stations that were on the map were not actually there.

Running 45:00 [3] 2.0 mi (22:30 / mi)

In Washington for NOCI. Ran around Wapato Lake 2x. Approx 1.68 mi. Then ran half way around approx .41 mi. Walked the rest and went to playground with the team.

Easy 2 mi run splits (5:41, 7:25). Total = 13:06

1/2 mile warmup to CSUF
2 x 400 m warmup jog around the field
4 x 100 m sprints, walk back
2 x 50 m high knees
2 x 50 m butt kick
1/2 mile jog
Really bad day, felt super tired
