ORIENTEERING 1:00:44 [3] 8.01 km (7:35 / km) +150m 6:56 / km
shoes: X-claw 275

Scotjos at Utah Lochans. Started with a corridor which was class fun with midge the dog and once I split away from the pack I was navigating ok. Went out again with midge-pete came too- for the corridor which we didn’t find too challenging, then done a mass start relay after.
Midge and I spent the first few controls just working our way up to pete, Megan ali and dj. Led for one leg after pete ran the wrong way but he got back on and led me the rest of the way, with midge and Megan not far behind. As usual struggled to nav as quick as pete so just tagged along behind.
Great forest most fun orienteering in a long time. Will have to take the week very easy back at school and hope to come to Deeside next weekend.
Writing this outside on the steps of Buchanan galleries with the prospect of a slow 926 then pipe band and not home til half 9 so body will be in absolute survival mode next few days...

ORIENTEERING 2:15:08 [3] 15.33 km (8:49 / km) +550m 7:28 / km
shoes: X-claw 275

Insriach in the morning- good bearings in some bits but terrible in other bits. Need to slow down and look at the map. Grated my shin off a rock and had to go to aviemore surgery which was cool

Craigengallach in the afternoon- class course down from the top of the hill loving the first few controls on the top. Switched off and ran without looking at the map and got very lost on 4, failed to relocate and had to wait for the others to come. After that went round with ali because was struggling without my compass (left it in the van) and he had severe cramp and needed my company as a morale boost.
Relieved to get my choccy milk in Tesco after

RUNNING 1:09:41 [3] 11.73 km (5:56 / km) +385m 5:06 / km

Failed attempt up cruach lusach because we met two pissed off farmers who couldn’t control their cows when they were trying to move them up our running route and wouldn’t let us come near. Found a loop past some nice birch to extend the run a bit. Already a decent weeks training need to do as much o-ing this weekend without overdoing it

Sightseeing run around London- class. Went from Blackfriars on the north side in a big loop finishing at imperial war museum which was also class.

St. Paul’s, bank, Tower of London, Tower bridge, HMS Belfast, London eye, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham palace, Hyde park, Marble Arch, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, mall, st James park, Downing Street, Parliament square- done it all in 2 hrs nice
Sunny but a lot of tourist dodging and few near misses with the classic London buses and taxis. Sadly no MPs/royals to lobby- bit relieved to be coming home tomorrow
