Sprint relay at ECU Mt Lawley. Teamed with Oscar, Henry and Cameron running first leg with me, Rachel and tRicky running second. Oscar and Henry came in together so Rachel and I started together. We were very late getting there due to traffic so had done no warm up and I was really struggling to stay with Rachel to the first couple of controls. Rachel was doing the shorter course so we split after the second control and I definitely dropped the intensity and just tried to recover on the next leg. Got going faster again after a bit of recovery but came in well behind Rachel.

Second leg of the sprint relay. Bullied Rachel into doing the longer course this time and Oscar came in close enough to Henry that I thought I had some chance of catching her. Right glute was tight from the start of this course but I think I was moving faster having warmed up a bit on the first course.
Saw Rachel up ahead on the way to 4, was closer at 5 and got past her going the opposite way to 6. Had a bit of hesitation on the way to 7 having trouble reading what was passable so I had to push hard to the finish to make sure I stayed in front.

Another short sprint course after the relay using many of the same controls plus a new section over in the student village.
Really tired from the start of this one and the right glute was feeling worse as well. Must have worked pretty hard to get past Rachel in the relay. Just wanted to stop on the way over to 3 and struggled with the complexity through the village but I guess that allowed me to recover a bit and I felt a little better for the rest of the course. Rachel did the shorter course again this time and appeared in front of me coming into 8 to make me work harder into the finish again.
About 2 minutes behind Henry and Oscar.

Did a bit of a warm down loop around the campus collecting a couple of tapes along the way. Found the girl who had earlier been looking for building 15 and helped her to work out that she had found the right building, just one day too early.
