Ran down to the WAMC Christchurch run thinking I would do the 5k if my heart was ok. Only lasted 10 minutes before my heart went but it didn't feel really bad so I decided to make it a long run by doing the 12k.
Heart was bad for the whole 12k but my legs felt pretty good so the downhill sections were quite enjoyable. Ran on the verge most of the time dodging obstacles to make it more fun and take pressure off my right little toe which I hurt at a playground yesterday. I probably really annoyed the people around me who were trying to race but they did get to leave me behind on the uphill.
Got to the end at about 90 minutes hoping to find Rachel and the kids but they weren't there so I had to run home after a bit of walking around looking for them. Heart was fine for the run home.

Build run in John Forrest with Rachel. First 30 minutes of easy running downhill was ok. Eased into the build pretty slowly, running with Rachel for the first few minutes. Started to pick the pace up a bit and was feeling quite good but my heart went going past the dam at about 43 minutes. Kept going to the start of the climb and then had to walk up the hill. Top of the hill was close when Rachel caught me so I was able to run with her the rest of the way with only a little discomfort.

Tried to go for a run but my heart was bad after only 5 minutes this time so i gave up and walked back.

Easy jog out to caves rd and back. Heart bad after 11 minutes so I stopped after 15 and did a few drills and strides.
