Running long 1:52:08 intensity: (1:00:00 @2) + (52:08 @3) 19.36 km (5:47 / km) +410m 5:14 / km
shoes: Adizero Boston

Really tired at the start again. Headed up to John Forrest but when I got there I couldn't face going further North for some reason so I just ran along next to the highway for a while and then turned South through Greenmount and down to the Helena River. Had a vague idea of trying to join in with the good runners that run up the valley from 7am but I was still feeling so tired I decided it would be pointless looking for them as I would get dropped straight away anyway.
Trudged up the valley on my own until I found water bubbling out of some sort of valve attached to the pipeline where I stopped for a good long drink. As I was leaving I heard voices and looked back to see the group approaching. Jogged for a while to let them catch up then tried to join in as they came past. Within a few strides of joining in I felt so much better it was ridiculous, almost effortless floating along much faster than I had been running on my own. I was so comfortable I even considered trying to stay with them up O'Connor Rd but as soon as I did this my heart started playing up. Even with my heart playing up it still felt pretty easy but I turned up Hardey Rd anyway. Chest felt a bit tight going up the hill but my legs felt heaps better than they had for the rest of the run all the way to the finish.

Easy run around KP. No energy this morning so started really slowly (over 7min/km for the first half an hour). Feeling a bit better by the end but not exactly jumping out of my skin.

Maffetone test. Legs felt heavy from the start today so I extended the warm up a bit hoping they would wake up eventually. Didn't really help but I decided to do the session anyway since it isn't really a hard session.
Tailwind going out and headwind coming back. Saw Hubert Day at the turnaround and he was riding just behind me for a while. I hoped I would be able to tuck in behind him for a while when he came past but he never did.

Easy run around KP. Calves still a little sore to begin with and right hammy tightened up a bit towards the end but generally felt pretty good. Quite chilly this morning.

Was going to go a bit longer but I used up too much time stopping to talk to Raf in the middle.
