Running tempo 38:21 [4] 8.18 km (4:41 / km)
shoes: Adizero Ace

Watched Rachel finish her 5k race looking incredibly strong compared to everyone around her then set out to run one 8k lap of the Pt Walter 16k course. First 2k warm up then 5k of tempo trying to slowly increase the pace. Heart started to misbehave before the end of the warm up. Felt a bit tight in the chest and out of breath the rest of the way and had 3 or 4 times when the heart seemed to stop working at all for a while but I made it to the finish alive and just managed to keep the splits heading in the right direction.

Might have to reassess my plan to just pretend I don't have a problem. Feeling a little discouraged at the moment.

Out powerline to Atkins Rd and back through the gauntlet. Really tired early, a bit better through the middle, feeling sick towards the end. Had a mini muffin before starting and it was trying to escape for the last half hour.

Running tempo 33:45 [4] 7.35 km (4:36 / km) +120m 4:15 / km
slept:6.9 weight:67.8kg shoes: Nike Free Run

Rehab loop (5:34, 7:44, 5:00, 5:54, 6:01, 3:32).
Kind of a build run but starting out fairly solidly. A little stiff and sore early on and thought I was running out of steam a bit after about 10 minutes but that is about the highest point on the course and it actually got better after that. Felt quite strong up O'Connor on the return but then slacked off a bit as I let my mind wander. Last km was pretty good without pushing too hard. Heart was good and overall pretty happy with the run.

A bit of a struggle after the intervals yesterday.

Running intervals 47:39 intensity: (10:00 @1) + (20:24 @2) + (2:00 @3) + (15:15 @5) 8.65 km (5:30 / km) +47m 5:22 / km
slept:6.8 weight:67.5kg shoes: Nike Free 3.0

Heart was really bad after being woken up by Amy at 4am so I really struggled to get out of bed in the morning. Thought about having another day off but then decided to do some intervals instead as a bit of a test. I figured if I could get through an intervals session after a bad night with my heart still playing up as I started, and feel it was worthwhile, then it might be worth trying to follow a proper training program again.

Jogged down to the oval to do 4x1k with 90s rest. No real target time but I was aware Rachel was supposed to be doing 4:05s.
3:57, 3:48, 3:51, 3:42
Heart not great on the first effort but seemed to settle down after that. Absolutely flogging it on the last although you wouldn't guess it from the time.
Had a few mild dizzy spells some time after getting home but nothing too serious. I'd still consider it a successful test so I might start trying to train properly now.
