Running 55:34 [2] 9.9 km (5:37 / km) +160m 5:12 / km
ahr:126 max:142 shoes: Adistar Cushion 6 red

10k loop. Build it up, build it up, build it higher. Build it up, up, up into the sky...
Not feeling as sick today but legs felt heavy, hills seemed steeper than usual.

Very sore throat last night and a bit of a cough when I woke up so thought I might just do the 5k loop again but felt much better once I got outside so decided to extend it to the rehab loop. Generally felt quite good but a little stiff and sore in places early on and a little tired at times. A bit surprised how fast it was, shows how tired I must usually be.

Running 28:56 [2] 5.0 km (5:47 / km) +80m 5:21 / km
slept:7.0 weight:70.2kg (sick) shoes: Adistar Cushion 6 red

Still feeling sick but thought an easy run might do more good than harm. Wore the heart rate monitor and heart rate seemed normal. Struggled a bit for the first 10 minutes then forgot I was feeling sick and just ran most of the rest. Starting to feel a little unwell again near the end.

Running (treadmill) 41:50 [2] 8.0 km (5:14 / km)
slept:6.0 weight:69.9kg shoes: Nike Free 7.0

Didn't want to get up this morning and the treadmill seemed easier to face than the outside world. Felt fine once I started and quite enjoyed it. I think I'd like to keep some regular treadmill running as it allows you to really think about your form in a way you just can't do out on the rough trails.

Running 50:00 [2] 8.8 km (5:41 / km) +110m 5:21 / km

Attempted the same loop in KP as Monday after a hard day at work. Got to work just before 10, went to lunch at 12, back to the office at 4, run at 5. I remember thinking as I ran down the street at the start "it feels as though my body is getting used to running twice a day, not starting the second run feeling stiff and tired anymore". By the time I got to the end it was hard to believe I had been thinking that at the start. Basically hit the wall before I even got into Kings Park (< 1km) and the rest of the run was a stiff, tired, painful struggle. Spent most of the run trying to talk myself into turning around but only convinced myself to cut off about 1k at the last possible moment up near the tennis courts. Still had to battle to convince myself not to run the extra 700m back to my car but won out in the end and even walked the last 20m to the office. Whole body aching and just wanted to lie on the floor when I got home.
Tomorrow will be interesting.

From McDonalds workshop (car service) in Mundaring down to Strettle reserve to do 5x1.05k loop with 270m jog recovery then home. Felt quite good at the start of the warm up despite the cold rain but started to feel tired without feeling as though I was warming up. Felt ok doing the intervals but still a bit tired. Got a bit faster on each effort then decided I should back off a bit on the last one and run it more like the first couple but obviously failed.
Warm up 5.14k 26:02
5x1.05k, 270m jog

Running 43:03 [2] 7.35 km (5:51 / km) +120m 5:25 / km
shoes: Adistar Cushion 6 red

Rehab loop at 6am. Not much spring in the step this morning.

Running 50:49 [2] 9.8 km (5:11 / km) +120m 4:53 / km
shoes: Nike Free 7.0

Easy lap of KP after work. Ivan has been sounding keen to do a longer run so I planned a slight variation of our normal loop which added about 1km and stayed more on the sand tracks. Only problem was Ivan's class switched from Wednesday to Monday this week so I ended up running it alone. It seemed like a nice loop and I felt quite good, much better than the morning. Feel as though I am starting to move a bit better but the body is still struggling to cope. I reckon I'll be starting to come into a bit of form in another couple of weeks if I can survive that long.
