Started out on rehab loop crossing between outward and return tracks a few times in search of shade (seems harder to find when you start at 11am) then out to the railway at Charles Rd and weaved around strettle reserve for a while trying to get the time up to an hour. Didn't quite manage an hour but did at least get it over 10km. That is enough to qualify as a long run isn't it? Felt a bit tired to begin with but comfortable going slowly and felt better once I stopped climbing. Left heel and right achilles both getting a bit sore on the medial side towards the end.

I think 71.6kg is a new record for me, not sure exactly but I think my previous highest was 71.5kg.

Intended to do the rehab loop but both of my achilles heels were so sore I cut it short and just did the 5k loop to O'Connor Rd. Soreness had pretty much gone by the end but I was feeling a bit tired so still glad I cut it short.

Ride to work. A bit chilly to begin with but ok once I had ridden up the first hill. Nice tailwind for the first half, more crosswind and much lighter after that. Felt quite strong up the hills in GF and Darlington, probably due to the tailwind. Not many pedestrians around the river this morning but I rang my bell a bit more than usual just to be safe.

Cycling 1:33:15 intensity: (1:13:15 @2) + (20:00 @4) 38.85 km (25.0 kph) +350m

Ride home. Nice conditions but by the time I got to the causeway I was thinking about how much I would prefer to be able to run for 2 or 3 hours every day rather than cycling. I thought this was a sign I might be getting tired but I actually felt pretty fresh all the way home and rode up the hills quite a bit faster than last week. Feeling a bit more positive about cycling by the time I got home.

10k loop at 7:20am. Took it fairly easy up to O'Connor Rd then picked it up to the usual 145-150bpm for the rest. 30-40 seconds/km slower than Tuesday for the first 3km then 0-10 slower for the rest. Felt a bit more out of breath at the top of the hills and it was the slower kms that were 8-10 seconds slower than last time Right achilles a bit sore to begin with again but not as bad and a bit lower, more on the side of the heel. Left heel hurt a little a few times but was mostly fine.

Easy run around rehab loop. Nice conditions this morning. A bit of soreness around the right achilles again but the left was all good. Felt ok, nice easy pace.

10k loop early in the morning trying to keep hr around 145-150. Didn't take much time warming up this morning, hr was 0ver 145 before I got to Moola Rd. Didn't feel as good as previous time doing this run but going about the same pace and hr. Still a bit of general tightness/pain around both achilles but not too bad and no pain around the heels after stopping.

Usual weights at Club Sierra. Left calf seems a bit weaker than right, last 5 of my sets of 25 single leg calf raises hurt a lot more on the left.

Both achilles sore when I got up at about 6:30 so I went back to bed and read some books to Liam. Got up again around 7:00, weighed myself and decided I'd better go for a run even if it hurts. The diet of pizza, cream doughnuts and chocolate doesn't seem to be working, might have to try an alternative approach. Eventually got out around 7:15 and did the rehab loop. A little more sore than I have been recently but not too bad and better at the end than the beginning. Quite nice conditions with a gentle cool breeze.
