Running 23:37 [2] 4.41 km (5:21 / km) +23m 5:13 / km

Little jog in KP. Sore on the medial side of the left heel quite early in the run but feeling ok again by the end. Heart a bit dodgy at times.

Gym 45:00 [3]

Pump with CC. Mostly walked over to the gym but for the little bit I did jog my heel felt fine.

Running 27:08 [2] 5.03 km (5:24 / km)
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Jogged a few laps of RP while the kids did running club with Sarah Jamieson.
Tried putting the orthotics in the shoes for the first time in a long while. Foot was pretty good, not sure if the orthotics were making a difference or just the couple of days rest.

Orienteering 15:25 [1] 1.54 km (9:59 / km) +17m 9:28 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Shadowing Amy around the Easy course at John Curtin.
I didn't look at the map at all and kept thinking Amy must be going the wrong way because it seemed too complicated for an easy course but she was actually doing fine. The only time she went wrong was on 7 where she was going to go straight to it but I told her I didn't think that could be her control because I didn't think they would be sending the easy course out into the bushland. I then thought she must be going the wrong way on the next leg because I thought the only reason they would have had the control outside the gate at 7 would be because they needed to be that side of the uncrossable fence to get to 8 but she came back in and had the fastest split. Only other problem was on the finish where she just didn't seem to think she should have to look at the map to find it. I'm sure she could have gone a lot faster if she really treated it like a race.

Orienteering race 19:34 [4] 3.27 km (5:59 / km) +31m 5:42 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Long course at John Curtin. Did this after shadowing Amy on the easy so I was a little familiar with the general layout of the area but I hadn't looked at the map at all and only really went around the outside so I don't think it helped much.
Had a pretty clean run, certainly wasn't making quick confident decisions and was a bit conservative with some of my routes but I did at least always make sure I had worked out a passable route and only a couple of minor hesitations on the execution. Felt very unfit, had to remind myself to keep running a few times when I was feeling a strong urge to stop and walk. Minor victory for the day was winning the finish split. Outside of left heel pretty sore most of the time.

Tennis 1:30:00 [1]

Hit with Liam for a lot longer than I should have. Left heel really sore but it was fun for a while.

Orienteering 39:36 [1] 3.19 km (12:24 / km) +171m 9:47 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 b

Training at JFNP. Walked and jogged around with some stops to check on Liam and search for missing tapes.

Orienteering 17:15 intensity: (5:00 @1) + (12:15 @4) 2.47 km (6:59 / km) +68m 6:08 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 b

Sprint course. Tried to run this harder but made a little bit of a mistake on number 9. Ran about 540m up the track when it was only 240m to the control. Distracted by overtaking Carol and Lily and then reading the sign on the bridge as I ran past the control.

Running 31:15 [2] 5.41 km (5:46 / km) +77m 5:24 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Easy run in KP with Rachel.
Quite sore behind left ankle starting out, very similar to Wednesday night. Just after entering KP we ran past a man (Alex?) walking his dog and I started feeling really good, springy and wanting to accelerate. I spent the next 5 minutes thinking about how much I would be enjoying this run if not for the pain, then it fairly suddenly stopped hurting at the back of the ankle and switched to the more usual mild pain down the outside of the foot which eased further throughout the run. I picked up the pace a bit when Rachel stopped at the Zamia toilets but unfortunately the springy feeling had largely worn off by then.

Running 31:43 [2] 5.59 km (5:40 / km) +34m 5:30 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Easy run out to Sunset and back from Amy's art class at Tresillian.
Not really sore at all down the outside of the foot today but was more sore around the back of the ankle. Thought about stopping a few times but couldn't bring myself to do it. Felt fine as soon as I did stop but there was a lot of odd clunking going on in the ankle when I did a bit of stretching.

Running 18:07 [2] 3.3 km (5:29 / km) +10m 5:24 / km

Little jog around the ovals after work. A little sore behind and under lateral malleolus again.
Didn't give the gps long enough to really work out where I was before starting.

Running 28:09 [2] 5.2 km (5:25 / km) +37m 5:14 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Easy run in KP late in the morning after a bit of a sleep in. Very little pain early on then started to feel it a bit around the outside of the left ankle then moving further down the outside of the left foot as the run progressed. More sore towards the toes on the uphill and towards the heel on flat/downhill but overall pretty good really. Felt a lot better than Friday afternoon.

Tennis 15:00 [1]

Spent the whole day at Liam's pennants grand final and then junior club champs so was difficult to fit in a run. Thought it was probably good to have a rest after running a bit faster the last couple of days anyway.
Did have a little hit with Liam on the orange ball court while Amy played her singles. They are playing orange ball doubles together so Liam wanted a bit more chance to get used to the smaller court again. Stopped when I started to feel the left heel a bit.

Orienteering warm up/down 24:10 [1] 1.86 km (13:00 / km) +12m 12:36 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

Jogged around the easy course shadowing Amy and Anais. Amy was fine when she actually looked at the map but I had to keep reminding her all the way around.

Orienteering race 17:42 [4] 3.32 km (5:20 / km) +18m 5:11 / km
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

NavDash Curtin Uni. Really struggling to read the map as fast as I was running even though I was running pretty slowly. Lost track of where I was up to when reading ahead between 8 and 9 and wasted a little time (15s) turning too early. Wasted more time (30s) on 14 where I thought I needed to go up but looked up and thought I could see that you couldn't get through so tried to go down first before turning back and finding you actually could get through where I had originally wanted to go. Rest of the course was ok, but not very fluent.

Running 24:02 [3] 4.31 km (5:35 / km) +28m 5:24 / km

Another little jog in KP. Had a bit of soreness on the medial side today. Pain seeming a little different each day but not obviously getting better or worse. Not really sure what to make of it. Ran a little harder today.
Heart a bit dodgy for a while just after leaving KP.

Pump class, last one with Elena. Looking forward to CC coming back next week. Not really sure why but I find her classes much more satisfying.
9 AM

Note

Physio referred me to a different physio (Neil Drouet) that he coaches with because he had doubts about the diagnosis. Neil thinks it sounds more like a sural nerve problem and wants me to do some slightly different exercises and start running again (every day).
9 PM

Running 23:17 [2] 3.69 km (6:18 / km)
shoes: Saucony Triumph ISO 2 Blue

A bit of walking and very slow jogging at the start, then jogged a few laps of Rosalie Park. Medial side of left heel a bit sore early on, where the tape was supposed to be pulling on it. That eased of after 8 or 9 minutes, then there was just a little pain underneath the heel, right at the back. Right foot was just as sore as the left by the end. Couldn't wait to get the tape off afterwards but it was a painful process, even worse than the run.

Cycling 36:43 [3] 13.78 km (22.5 kph) +132m

A couple of laps in KP while the kids were at running club.

Tennis 2:30:00 [1]

Pennants vs Higgins Park. Shouldn't really have done this but the team was going to have to forfeit if I didn't and I couldn't resist using that as an excuse to get out for a hit. I said I was going to try to avoid running much and try to keep the points short but I really didn't do anything different from usual. Lost the first set 4-6 but won the rest for a 7-1 win overall.
