Foothills 14K trail race! Except they had to remove a portion of the beginning so it was shorter. But still SO MUCH FUN. It was snowy, which means cold and slippery. Trail was single track so hard to pass. The uphills were a real grind (especially with regular ol running shoes), and I, like many others, definitely did some walking up them. The first major downhill was about a mile of straight SENDING down steep switchbacks and was TREACHEROUS. Lost a lot of people on that (skiing intuition y'all), but on the final downhill less than a minute before the end, I totally ate it sliding face first on the trail. Got some great bruises from that. Anyway, made a lot of friends, learned a lot about proper footwear, had a ton of fun, and got 4th for women! Wooo trail races!!
