Morton hundo with a few boys. Felt reasonable, keeping the pace fairly chill. Bit earlier than normal due to wanting to watch London marathon. Another one ticked off.

Hounds HH Sesh: 10’T [5’], 12x1:30’ [1:30’]

First grass session of the season and first time doing a second session for a couple of months. Tempo was chill (3:20s) but legs were feeling pretty flat. Felt better on the 90s. Tried to stay light on my feet and keep things relaxed. Just sat at the front of the pack for the whole thing feeling comfortable. Think I did this just about right, never going into the red but pushing a good pace the whole time. Easy jog recovery’s. Calves in pieces now as haven’t worn spikes for ages. Absolutely pishing it down but wasn’t too slippery. Good fun.

1:30s @ 2:56/km average.

Lovely crisp sunny morning round Craigmillar. Little bit tired but moving ok. Blister feels good enough to run on now.

Running 32:55 [2] 7.25 km (4:32 / km) +30m 4:27 / km

Couple of meadows laps with Finn and Dan. Feeling very average but some good chat got me through.

Spinning 1:58:33 [2]

Gladhouse with Fred and Finn

50.2km / 25.4kph

This went a lot smoother than expected, no dramas despite the slippery road surface. Fred put in a couple of Froome like high cadence attacks but I managed to cover without any issues. Put both lads into the red up the main climb out of Penicuik, but the recovery over the top was enough for everyone to make it home bonk free. Blister feeling a bit better today so hopefully back to running tomorrow.

Shagging some cross training until my blister heals. Did 3 seat laps and 2 duddingston laps. Cruising along (27.2kph).

Note

Blister on base of foot in an absolute state. Might have to take a couple of days on the bike so I don’t give myself shin splints again trying to run through them.

Hounds Sesh: 6x4’ [1’ float]

With Max and Andy today. Decided to go with it and see how long I could hold on. Felt tough but wasn’t going all out to keep with them. Was pretty glad though when they both stopped at 6 reps. Would have been nice to do 8 although feel like I got some high quality work done here and happy to stay with these two lads for the whole thing.

Note
(rest day)

18 holes at Swanston Par 3 course. Starting to see some nice improvements in my golf, shot +13 today which I was satisfied with. Only shot one double bogie, the rest bogie or better so consistency was on point. Putting was lacking today a bit so made 12 bogies and only 4 pars. Nearly got a hole in one on the 7th hole, landing it half a foot away from the pin. Tap in birdie but agonizingly close to my fist hole in 1. Was with Tom and Freddie today. Tom had a very shaky front 9 but came through on the back 9 with +11 through 9 holes, including 4 pars for the day. Freddie produced a couple of moments of brilliance from the water hazards. Impressive stuff all round.
