Out to braids with Jack, Tom and Max and then back along the road home. Could feel calf straight off but it eased and never really bothered me although I could feel it still. Was very tempted to do the whole long run but stuck to the original plan. Felt good a pressed on a little bit on the way home which was nice. Will take this very chill/cautious next week still.

Didn't have any motivation to get on the watt bike and physically cant ride the road bike so decided to join the boys for a bit of seat action. Calf felt better I think, but still taking things cautiously. was very careful not to fall on my wrist. In quite a lot of pain, woke up at 3am in agony, couldn't get back to sleep. I had to wait 3 painful hours for Tesco to open so I could get some pain killers. Quite tired today as a result.

Note

Good news everyone, just ligament damage In my hand so don't need a cast, just a wrist brace for the next few days. Very relieved.

Easy spin out along the canal. About 18km out I pulled off onto some country lanes. Within a minute hit a massive patch of ice. Panicked and tapped the breaks. Next thing I know it, I’m face down in the ice. My right wrist took the brunt of the fall. Had to cycle all the way back home with one hand which was absolutely horrible. In A&E now preying I don’t have a broken wrist :(

Cycle out along the coast

42.3km @ 27.4kph

Last minute decision not to do phys testing as the physio advised me not to. Just going to hit the rehab hard and hopefully will be good to go in a week or so. Absolute freezing, had 3 layers of socks but that still wasn’t enough. Usual headwind and uphill back into Edinburgh wasn’t so pleasant. Also accidentally ended up on a stretch of duel carriage way which was the single most terrifying experience of my life.

Joined EUOC long run crew for a bit then headed home. Shin was uncomfortable throughout but never really got worse. Hard to decide weather to do phys testing or not.

Post run cycle out to Portobello

19.51km @ 27.1kph

Had a dirty tailwind out to the beach then an absolute belter of a headwind back which was a bit grim. Kept things relatively chill, just wanted to get some time in after the run.

Quick Cycle Round the Seat

21.7km @ 26.5kph

Did 3 queen drive climbs and the a bit of innocent railway. Pressed on for most. Very wind and top of queen drive was like cycling into treacle. Definitely got the lungs working which was nice.
6 PM

Running 38:46 [2] 7.21 km (5:23 / km) +180m 4:47 / km
shoes: Hoka One One Mach

Round the crags with some people who couldn't be sacked with intervals. Shin felt tight and a bit uncomfortable, but it was never painful. Will keep taking things steady and see how it progresses.
