Running 45:54 [3] 7.21 km (6:22 / km) +165m 5:43 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 shield

Jog from the house with mum. Took us a few tries to get the right track up the hill. Feeling tired and was too hot so had to walk most of the way up the hill on the awful eroded track. Met my auntie and little cousin at the top so stopped for a few mins.

Running 26:47 [3] 4.05 km (6:37 / km) +95m 5:55 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 shield

Improvised route to avoid all the weirdos sunbathing in the park and also just tried to add bits on by going uphill in the hollies which made me more tired than they should've especially considering how slow I was

Scottish relay. Thought my mum still had to do spectator loop so wasn't really near when she came over so I set off with Paul. The first leg was all along a track so he got ahead because he's faster but I took a better route in so was in front. I stayed in front until #7 where I accidentally took a wrong elephant track through a patch of nettles and couldn't get across, and the 10 seconds I lost meant Paul got ahead and I never caught him again because I was just so exhausted. A woman was following me along the short legs at the end but overtook me on the track up the hill. Was just way too slow for this kind of easy pathy area.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)

Forgot my garmin. Bit fast to start but really really slow back.

Orienteering race 58:28 [3] 6.5 km (9:00 / km) +100m 8:21 / km

Scottish champs at Gullane. Average race, a few where I was in the circle but just missed the control and had to look around a bit, just losing seconds which added up. #11 I was looking too soon then just zigzagging across a little strip of light green so lost at least a minute there. #18 there was nothing to go off so I was being cautious but I was just dithering too much and worrying I'd gone past so lost a minute. Came 2nd but 6 mins down on Eilidh and I only just beat Kirsty and Alice. Just too slow.

Note

Since the British Champs individual the middle my foot has been very painful and since the start of this week the top has been swelled. But on Friday the pain mostly went away. Dad thinks it was extensor tendonitis. Pretty lucky that it went away just before the Scottish.

Orienteering race 33:30 [3] 3.8 km (8:49 / km) +165m 7:15 / km

Last relay wth Lucy and Laura since they're off to uni next year so really great to win for our last one.
Hilly.
Lucy set me off a minute in the lead I think- took me a bit too long to find my #3 so Abi Mason caught me at #4. Think I overtook her again because next time I saw her was on the way to #7 or #8 I think because I heard her yelling behind me because she'd just gone over her ankle. She said she would be able to run it off and there wasn't really anything I could do so I carried on but I was a bit messy from there so she wasn't far behind even though her ankle was clearly pretty bad. At #12 doubted myself a bit so lost a bit of time and was pretty much with Abi again. Came in maybe 20s in the lead, but us two teams were quite far in front of 3rd I think. Laura held onto 1st so a win for Aire :)

British champs
Legs were so tired I was running so slowly. Two main mistakes were #2 where I lost a couple mins I think- came down too low and had to get back up a crag which was quite hard, and #14 where I was too far right so lost a couple of mins, then when I found the right crag I was sure until some people were standing near it discussing finding the control so I assumed it wasn't there and was looking round for another minute or so. I'm an idiot.
Found an injured Rosie on the way to #12 and stopped to check she was alright, but she said she'd been walking it off since #4 and she didn't want me to lose my chances because of her so she told me to keep going and I did but felt bad for leaving her.
Happy with 3rd but annoyed I was only 22s down on Lizzie because there were so many easy little ways I could've made that up.

Running 19:05 [3] 3.3 km (5:47 / km) +70m 5:14 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 shield

First time out by myself in ages. Nice and short. Enjoyed it. Great way of procrastinating school work. Throat was as dry as a bloody desert since I'd had nothing to drink really and have been struggling to breathe out my nose thanks to this cold i've got, but still enjoyed it thanks to perfect weather. Didn't look at my watch because I wanted to know how fast I would go without trying to do a particular pace.
