Orienteering 1:47:20 [3] 6.2 km (17:19 / km)

Much better orienteering today. The woods were beautiful.
Did the first 'contours features' course shadowed by Emma Harrison, which was good because she stayed quite quiet until she was able to contribute. This was great because if we were looking for a control I felt like we were both working it out and it actually helped a lot more than someone standing there knowing and watching you fail. I feel like I was navigating much better today. There was some tall bracken to crash through but if you were determined enough you could do it fairly easily while staying on line- I knew that aggressiveness though undergrowth was a weakness for me so I'm happy with just this progress.
Did the rock features course alone and it was completely fine, if a little slow. On number 4 I was heading for the control but got distracted by a nearby control about 20 meters to my right, but decided it wasn't right.
Me and Louise attempted to walk the line together but only had time to do some of it. We were totally happy until one part we completely couldn't make sense of, but we got there in the end.

Orienteering (YHJS) 2:16:00 [2] 9.26 km (14:41 / km)
shoes: VJ bold

It was just so hard to move around this area- it was either felled trees, low branches or young fir trees that were close together.
I found the training okay, but I kept navigating to the circle correctly, then spending minutes looking for the control within that small area.
I think I did the line course well, staying on it up until the very end where I got a bit off. I think I stayed on otherwise though, but it was probably made easier because I mostly walked, although I tried to jog more on the second half.

Running warm up/down 12:00 [2] 1.2 km (10:00 / km)

We did more moving drills at this weekend.

Orienteering race 23:06 [2] 2.58 km (8:57 / km)
shoes: VJ bold

British Middle Champs
1st! Only splitsbrowser listed mistake being no.2 where I stopped to help a really polite little boy. So I'm also feeling very noble as well as impressed that I did so well.
Such an unbelievably clean run. Every route choice I took seemed the best, but I wasn't quite fast enough to beat the guy I saw every couple of minutes. We were on the same course but we literally took a different route to every single control- I was ahead from navigation then he would sprint past me.

shoes: Nike Pegasus 32

White Horse run
I thought I'd had plenty to drink but I guess I hadn't. 23 degrees was way too hot. I was going okay, although the steep and long downhill was hard on my knees, up until halfway round the lake where the heat was too much and I couldn't keep going. Walked the rest of the lake, thought about quickly dipping in the lake but discovered some leeches. Going back up the steep hill was too much for me, but I tried to jog the easier sections of it. Cut off the end 2k.

Compass sport cup heat (course distance not actual)
Orange course- 3rd
...
Oh dear.
I still have a cold but that didnt really matter to be honest but I can't run on no water. I should've done this in 20 minutes, but A) no water. Dying. and B) Don't try to make it more difficult that it should be. Take the path.

Note

Liked the thumb compass. Ta Louise.
It was right handed as well but I found it okay... need to borrow someone's left handed at some point.
