Very wet long style at Dunalastair, was a bit dodgy to #2 so wasn't confident enough to not get dragged off my line by meg as she overtook me. Got to where we thought the control would be and there was none, I knew what I'd done traight away because I could tell i was going off line but i just sort of stood for a couple mins rather than going the opposite direction with alice and meg before i decided

disappointing to be bad on a much easier area than yesterday when yesterday was so good, but a lot of the reason i was slow was i was physically slow because i was shattered- lots of path legs. just made a silly mistake at #7 where i forgot to account for a field and at #5 where the lake was flooded so i ended up too far right because i had proportions wrong, and then didnt see it straight away as i ran left

First proper night o ive done- was very clean and was going about the same pace as earlier so pretty pleased and less scary than i thought it would be except for a tent we were told was empty rustling behind me despite there being no wind

normally 30 mins is the limit of chlorine my eyes can take but i guess cos ive not been for ages it was 20, so gave up on adding in fast front crawls from this point and had to carry on with breaststroke head up, was feeling pretty slow but still tired after (got 10 fast ones in at least)

on the far side the road was all ice downhill. slipping and sliding with every step thankfully no one could see. took a long time to get down it and then the path by the ring road was icy too so ran on the very uneven grass verge which was hard work
