Tiomila 2019, leg 1
I was not expecting a first leg but because I love the excitement and show I was mentally ready(physically nowhere near to be ready for this). Idea was to take it easy and take a road route choice around to 1....

BAM!
Good first 100m, then people pushing from behind and sides, some elbow fights and I fell hard on the ground getting somebody to step on the side of my back and someone on my ankle. Hard and very scary start, first thought was 'can I even run and try to finish this?' Well I tried and started with the road routechoice which worked well: I started getting used to the pain and gained a lot of places with the routechoice. But once it got into the forest it got a lot worse and I just couldn't run. I tried, shouting codes and trying to hang on the right forkings... orienteering was good, I gathered a big group at every forking but just couldn't keep up the speed... at some point I arrived at the finish!

Not what I wanted and now I have to figure out how I'm gonna make it to the first team at Jukola.... vittu

Beautifuuul forest, in some parts. Some parts not good at all, marshes were "balls deep". Some of the forest was like from a movie and there was also a part that could have been exactly from Harriman state park. Excited for this edition of Tiomila and the very good second team we have!
