Orienteering race (TVOC Saturday Series) 23:06 [5] ** 4.91 km (4:42 / km) +43m 4:30 / km

2nd (fastest 22:45) Tried to be steady through the first few controls and navigate well, only started to run out of steam for the last couple of long runs back to the finish. Small dither in the undergrowth for #6 and #10 but otherwise a clean run (could've exited #10 by hopping across the stream rather than using the bridge a bit further down). Didn't see much point in going for a second (non-counting) run on the orange, doubt I'd have been any quicker.

Looking on Winsplits ( http://obasen.orientering.se/winsplits/online/en/d... ), I had a 10s dither at #7 too, that'll be looping around the thicket, slightly confused by the mapping there. Looks like I lost most of my time to the (M21) leader in the first half where I was concentrating on being steady. I think that paid dividends later on though: we were evenly matched from #12 onwards.

If only I could maintain that first half control for the big sprint events.
