Orienteering race (SE Long champs) 1:07:00 [3] 6.8 km (9:51 / km) +250m 8:19 / km
(injured)

Interesting day. 1) Got lost trying to find the event, arrived 25mins before our start time; 2) ankle brace broke before #1 so kept snagging on everything which was very annoying; 3) calf went after #3; 4) brain went after #5, even tried to redo a few controls I thought I'd missed - residual migraine brain fog; 5) ran chest first into a rigid branch that took the wind out of me & has left an impressive bruise. Surprised I made it round tbh. Late entry 6) 4 ticks removed so far. Make that 5 ticks - another had taken up residence in my belly button.

Woke early with a cluster migraine. Haven't had one since this time last year. 4hrs of thumping headache & throwing up.

5,6,7,8,9,10 reps of each pair: box jumps/pushups; squat thrusts/side plank reach; reverse lunges/side Burpees; goblet squats/V sit-ups; walking lunge/jump squats

Walk 1:25:00 [1] 8.5 km (10:00 / km) +190m 9:00 / km

Went for a walk in the woods with a few jogs to test the calf. Was fine. Everything else hurt tho. :-(

Cycling (Out the Back) 2:06:00 [3] 50.0 km (2:31 / km) +692m 2:21 / km

Was planning on resting today, but with gorgeous sunshine & 24degs, I went out to enjoy it with DD after he did a 28k TT first. Given he averaged 40.3kph on his TT, I expected him to be a bit tired on our loop. He wasn't. He just disappeared up all the hills & my sore quads, glutes & hammies from the last 2 days meant I had nothing to respond with. Bit demoralizing really!!

Strength 40:00 [3]

2 sets of 4x 20s/10s of each: squats, pushups, fwd lunges, mtn climb, lunge kicks, plank reach back, weighted leg raises, burpees. I thought I was reasonably fit. This session told me I am not.

Monday May 8, 2017 #

Strength (Legs) 30:00 [3]

4 sets of 8 reps each side: Single leg squats, squat to side lunge, pendulum lunges, single leg bridge, bulgarian split squats. This is a half rep session so I don't suffer DOMS as badly over the next week. Suspect it's going to hurt anyway, so I might hair of the dog it tmrw.
