Caught a bus from Dolgellau to Maentwrog to run the last 40 wish km of day two.

Sat on the bus I did question it as we had to stop for fallen trees in the wind and rain.

Probably couldn't have picked a worse day outside of winter to run across the Rhinogs but very happy I did instead of the three peaks.

I have ran bits of this before in summer and the ground wasn't great then but in the middle of a storm it was something else.

To give you an idea I had a pair of Berghaus mountaineering gloves on and they stayed on all day.

knee deep bogs, wind took me off my feet a few times and too many bum slides to count meant it was slow going in parts but no surprises on the day now.

Not sure I had the best line in places but happy overall.

I did have a big wobble....had all my nutrition with me but with the weather I went a few hours without unzipping my jacket and going in my pack.

Stupid error but it all felt easy enough until I basically bonked, took shelter by a stone wall for a few mins to try and refuel.

I left the poles at home knowing about the winds but you couldn't use them anyway due to the ground so another good learning point.

Will email but I have a lot going on so I have decided to bin the three peaks and look at parts of DBR.

Did an out and back of the start of Day 2 as wanted to have a look at Cnicht and a bit further.

Flash food weather on the way there and the rain didn't let up for the first 4 hours.

Windy too on Cnicht.

It wasn't that tough going to be honest but I was moving slow as I had the recommend route on my watch but also Jim Manns route choices so was comparing the two.

He put a lot of time in to Marcus Scotney on the first two days so figure he must have some good lines.

Worth while I think.

Got back and had some time left so did the last few KM of day 1 two and found a wee shortcut.

All felt easy to be honest apart from having to wear full kit...fucking hate having trousers on.

Missed yesterday running wise...

Winter still not being well meant she couldn't go to school and that means me staying home usually.

This run is straight out the door and up to Horseshoe pass via Offas Dyke route so will be able to use it often.

Few fields at the start but then its good running
