Had an amazing time at the inaugural Sylvan put on by Rootstock Racing. The day was unexpectedly cloudy and wet and we lost our third teammate the day before the race but @StrongMachine and I enjoyed our first time racing together in about a year and a half. As usual an excellent course design and smooth organization from Rootstock. Felt the strongest I’ve been in a long time - maybe ever for a race this length so it was nice to see the training pay off. Race report to come.

10min warm up, 20min race pace, 15min cool down. Pretty run on rolling and rocky trails by the river. Trees finally blooming! Felt sluggish to start but warmed up by the end of the race effort.

Brick workout (my first!). 4x "race efforts" of varying lengths (2-7 minutes).

2nd part of brick workout. 3x2 minute "race efforts" with 1 minute recoveries. Felt great.
