Run 23:00 [2] 4.0 km (5:45 / km)

Easy morning jog with Kine, Agnes and Emil for the first part from our accom - very nice on some xc ski tracks
2 PM

Run warm up/down 15:00 [1] 1.28 km (11:43 / km)

Orienteering race 43:40 [5] 5.3 km (8:14 / km)

Venla!!!! 3rd leg for Halden 3. Had heaps of fun and was such a good experience....not the best run of m life though. Looking back it was really only the first control that I really cooked - bearing was slightly off so I missed it by about 30m and got to a different control very close but it was so vague and there were so many people around I took ages to get to mine. Then stacked it really badly in the semi open going to 5 and smashed up the side of my knee a bit; nothing serious but I had to hobble the last couple of hundred meters to that control even though I could see it, and was struggling to put pressure on the knee/ bend it to get over logs etc. After that started to run again and managed to forget about it a bit apart from when I had to climb over logs or go down steep downills. Navigationally the rest was mostly ok, just a couple of small near misses but had lost a bit of confidence from the beginning so wasn't as quick as I probs could have been. Still such a good experience and not so bad considering it was another new type of terrain :)

Didn't do it on my watch so length is just my course length. Didn't look up my time either so this is just approximate of what i vaguely remember lizzie telling me my time was.

Run warm up/down 8:17 [1] 1.35 km (6:08 / km)

Orienteering 1:05:00 [3] 4.82 km (13:29 / km)

Second jukola training map. Was just going pretty slow to see all the features I needed etc and figure everything out. All was mostly well until one very short control in the green where my compass was slightly off and I couldn't make sense of the contours and after a while I realised I had switched which control I thought I was going to then really had no idea where I was, so bailed to the track and kept going.

Run warm up/down 7:54 [1] 1.51 km (5:14 / km)

Orienteering 38:49 [2] 3.47 km (11:11 / km)

After another travel day to get to Finland, met up with the Halden crew at the airport ad went straight to the first training map. Was very unmotivated but it was all good once I got out there. Just kind of jogged about with Karoline, which was actually good as she was much more confident in that terrain so helped me along. Found it very weird and hard to get used to the massive depressions but it was good fun.

Run warm up/down 23:00 [1] 2.86 km (8:03 / km)

Run intervals (hills) 37:13 [3] 5.62 km (6:37 / km)

Early hill intervals before leaving Pozza Di Fassa. Did 2x5x90sec (jbd - so about 2mins) with a 3min break between sets. Longer recoveries meant I could push pretty hard, and felt pretty good!
Spent the rest of the day travelling so nothing else but it was nice to get the session done early.

Run warm up/down 12:00 [1] 2.0 km (6:00 / km)

Run 45:00 [3] 7.52 km (5:59 / km)

Morning run. Went about 2ks on the flat, then climbed up from Pera until I hit the 25min mark, then turned. Didn't take a map or phone so not the path I intended but still got on a good track with some good climb.

Walking 3:00:00 [3]

Last long walk. Basically up to the ski area next to Pozza, which had a nice view over a side valley and down to Moena which I hadn't seen yet, though the track itself was more grass (including straight up ski slopes). Knew the weather was coming in so when I was at the top I was struggling to decide whether id be safe continuing along a cool but very open/exposed high ridge before going back down an also open gully to the trees - decided to go for it so this walk ended up including probably around 40mins of mostly downhill running because I was really scared a storm would hit while I was out in the open. Its a good thing I ran too because it started raining and thundering quite heavily once I had made it back to the trees! Lucky to still get some good views though and a nice walk!

Was going to make this intensity 2, because Pat complained that walking can never be considered intensity 3...I think relative to the activity its fine and calling it walking explains the intensity enough so i didn't bother changing it...but given that i actually ran some of this i left it ;) please consider all walks lower intesnity if this is an issue haha

Run warm up/down 23:30 [1] 2.9 km (8:06 / km)

Run intervals 22:00 [5] 4.51 km (4:53 / km)

4x2min, 4x1min all with 1min rest and an extra 2min break between the 2s and 1s. Was gonna go down towards Moena but the bike path became a solid downhill all the way there, so went back up the river where I had gone yesterday. Wasn't that much time on the hards but it was hard work!!! and that's what I need to practice now so its all good. Felt like I was really struggling in the 2s and had to push so hard to keep the pace, then the 1s were so short I hardly had time to notice ;)

Run warm up/down 15:00 [1] 2.32 km (6:28 / km)

9 AM

Walking 1:00:00 [3]

Shorter walk today (though still over 1hr but not so strenuous) on a much more touristy route from the top of a cable car out to one of the huts and back, so not much up/ down. Still some stunning views of some awesome rocky mountains and both ways along the valley...without me having to spend hours walking up there ;) wanted to not kill myself too much so I could manage some strength this arvo too...6:24pm atm and still haven't done it...
8 PM

Strength 27:00 [3]

Another late one...but I did it! Only a core circuit but at least it was something

Run long 1:45:00 [3] 20.06 km (5:14 / km)

Copped out of the hills today and did an almost entirely flat long run up the valley (hence the pace). Don't think I have ever done a long run like this. Was a glorious day though and a super nice bike path/ track all the way up the river through the other towns. Went to Canazei and back. Still got some pretty stunning views of the surrounding mountains too so it was really nice to just chug along and not really think at all :))))) A mix of bike path, grass next to the bike path, and dirt track. Legs were still pretty cooked by the end after a fair bit of hard surface and already sore glutes. Resting this afternoon!
