Training in Prestebakke (World Cup 2015 terrain).

Nice to start again the specific preparation for WOC 2016. Far from optimal today, but it always takes time to remember it is not 2,5 contours intervals here, and therefore all route-choices need a little more caution. Rusty at the beginning, and a little bit too excited to meet up with Frenchies, ended in miss-punching the 4th control too…



The steeper slopes with cliffs will definitively be one of the main challenge at WOC. Either going up or down can be tough. It is really hard to make a good drawing from those specific areas and give a clear idea about the different passages between the cliffs. But, at least, the new coming ISOM where the impassable features will not be allowed to pass (like in ISSOM) will probably make it a bit more fair.


Always nice to speak some french (also rusty), and even nicer to have a birthday pie waiting at the finish! #tack

Tried to speed-up a bit in the middle part with the "normal" map, but somehow the gulaschsoppa and blåbärspaj (highly recommended though) from lida friluftsgård wasn´t helping much.

Diamond in Järlåsa.



Well, I was pretty alone there this morning, as it was a training I set for OK Linné couple of weeks ago and couldn´t join because of my shin inflammation. This area has been remapped lately, and even though it is small, it is really enjoyable. Especially when it is now totally snow free, which wasn´t the case two weeks ago.

Middle distance in Stenhagen.



A small forest, west of Uppsala, which gets smaller and smaller while the town is expanding. Still, it is one of my favourite place, with slightly different forms than the ones you find in Nåsten or Lunsen.

A rather good technical performance, except for the last control where I did a parallel mistake. Annoying. The game is not over until it is.

O-intervals in Siggefora.

A snowy morning here in Uppsala, but when you haven´t been orienteering for a long time, you need more than this to kill your enthusiasm.


6 times about 1,5 km, with 2min rest in-between.

Even if there is a clear lack of rhythm, at least it feels easy to focus on the technical task at the moment. Hungry for orienteering.


One of those mornings where the weather doesn´t matter much, and you are just happy to breathe fresh air and be healthy. #StandWithBrussels

Choosing Tjäderleksbergen for a restart with technical work was not a bad choice. It was pretty wet and cold this morning, but my enjoyment level was sky-high.



At the beginning, I felt like an elephant in a porcelain store, but already by the end of the training I was more comfortable in the terrain. I will probably need couple of trainings in forest though, to get back the mobility and ankles strength to normal. But, damn, I love this game! : )

Finally back with some running, after 2-3 weeks of alternative trainings.

I have been struggling with an inflammation in the lower part of my shin. The reasons are still little bit unclear, except of quite much running on hard surfaces due to the period where we had snow here in Uppsala.

Went to get an MRI quickly, as the pain was rather the same as back in 2012, when I got a stress-fracture in tibia. This time, nothing could be seen in the bone, but I still had to stop running for a while. The main difference with 2012 might have been that, this time, I stopped early enough and just had to deal with some kind of shin splints. Anyway, a good warning and, even if nothing is for sure, I will try to stay on the safe side now.

The first runs has not been really powerful yet, but I am not starting from zero neither. I tried to become better at different things (flexibility, core-strength, cooking : ), and those days have been anyway filled with alternative trainings, like biking, open stride, alter-G, swimming and aqua-running. Plenty of fun toys, but no one which really match the feeling of being outside running in a snow storm… #feelingalive


Thanks to Telge Rehab in Södertälje, and the great support of Tommy Tedelund there, I got again the chance to get the feeling to run on the moon, with only 20% of my weight.
