Hiking 3:00:00 [3] 14.6 km (12:20 / km)

Woke up 9am... leisure walk to Helmet Falls then had relaxing breakfast. Started today's hike at 11:30am. Flat trail from Helmet to Paint Pot. There was a half broken suspension bridge with bunch of red tapes around. There was no way we were going to swim cross the river so we went over the red tapes and used the bridge. Today we saw three people going other direction ( one couple and one park staff) and when we got to Paint Pot there were lots of tourists. We had a lunch/snack break near the end and washed my feet in the river and got to the car at 3pm.

Hiking 9:00:00 [3] 29.7 km (18:11 / km) +1680m 14:10 / km

Long day from Floe Lake to Helmet Falls with 4 passes.

Started hiking at 9:30am. Beautiful hike following the Rockwall stretching SE to NW. Numa pass was my favourite pass of all four because of the view of the Rockwall and Floe Lake together. We had a short lunch break at Numa Cr campsite and we met the German guy who were taking a longer lunch break and he had a pit fire going and baking some bread! No wonder his pack weigh 28kg... although kinda funky way to hike the divide. We went up Tumbling Pass when it was the hotest time of the day but it was nice that lots of snow to cool myself and creeks to refill water bottles. We made a shortcut after Tumbling Pass so we didn't go all the way down to Tumbling Cr campsite. We crossed open field with one river (4m wide, knee deep) and we eventually joined back to the trail before Wolverine Pass where we had a nice snack break. The shortcut saved us fair bit of elevations. We got little bit of rain when we were going up to Summit (last pass) but it lasted only few minutes. We made it to Helmet Cr campsite at 6:30pm. There was only one group (two guys) at the site.

We didn't see anybody on the trail today (other than the German guy) and this is very quiet campsite. People don't like hiking? Or is this too early in the season??

Hiking 2:45:00 [3] 10.7 km (15:25 / km) +692m 11:39 / km

Anniversary hike to Floe Lake with James, which we decided night before that we want to hike Rockwall Trail from Floe Lake to Helmet Falls. It worked out perfect that Tumbling Cr and Numa Cr trails are closed due to washouts (we did the loop long time go before we got married, I think).

James dropped me off at Floe Lake parking lot and he drove to Paint Pot to drop off the car and biked back Floe Lake parking lot. We started hiking at 5pm and it was still 32C... We came cross one avalanche field that was hard to see where the trail went. Made it to Floe Lake before 8pm and explored around (still lots of snow) and only two other people were there, one from Israel and another from Germany, they are both doing continental divide from us border. We had fondue dinner around 9pm and the temperature dropped very quickly.

Tennis 1:30:00 [3]

Played with Maya and Bob. It was still hot at 7pm but the wind kept us somewhat cool, although bit hard to play tennis with the wind... Played two games at the end, lost 1-5 and won 5-3.

Hiking 5:00:00 [3] 13.0 km (23:05 / km) +1800m 13:38 / km

Woke up 7:30am because of the sun was beaming so strong already and inside of the tent was too hot ( at least my side was). After a nice relaxing break fast, 9:00am we started our rest of adventure hike with steep scramble off Teepee N1. My pack was super light without 4.5L of water. Carried only 1L today!! We went over three humps and had an early lunch break at the last hump 11:00am before heading down the Saddleback trail. We explored the ridge area a bit then went down to Premier Lake and pick up the car 2:00pm and had very refreshing swim in the lake :).

I almost forgot to pick our bikes up by Lazy Lake...

Mt Biking (Gravel Road) 1:10:00 [3] 18.0 km (3:53 / km)

Biking part of Mt.Stevens to Saddleback adventure ridge hike. I wanted to do this ridge hike for a long time and I finally did it with Big Fish and Larry.

10:15am Parked car at just before Premier Lake and biked gravel road from Premier Lake to Lazy Lake then continued up on gravel road to abandoned mind to where we dropped off our hiking gear. It was easy/fast ride with not much evelvation changes. A half way through, Larry's rear tired ( fat tubeless) got a small puncture and air was slowly leaking. We stopped and pumped his tire twice and made the entire bike section ok. 11:45am

Hiking 6:30:00 [3] 10.5 km (37:09 / km) +2061m 18:45 / km

Hiking part of Mt.Stevens to Saddleback ridge hike adventure. Distance is estimated by looking at 1:50,000 map.

12:15pm we changed bike mode to hike mode then hide our bikes and had short lunch break. refilled all our water bags when we crossed a river and hoped for more water stop somewhere higher. Very hot day... 3km of gravel road (1000m elev to 1350m elev.)

13:15pm there were 6 trucks parked at Mt Stevens trailhead. We refilled water again and this time I filled my 3L water bag because there won't be anymore water here on. Now I'm carrying 5.5L of water!! I've never carried this much water before... stopped twice for snack break. Near the top of mt Stevens, met huge group (14ish?) of trail runners from Kimberley including Paddy and Naomi who were on 2nd lap! Crazy... 5km of very steep trail (1350m elev to 2667m elev mt.).

16:15pm we figure we still have lots of time so continued to Teepee Mt., the highest point on this adventure hike. 1.5km of great view but very windy ridge trail. (elev. 2667m down to 2575m up to 2789m)

16:50pm after Teepee mt. we were off trail (no trail) to Teepee N1. It was super sketchy rockclimbing scramble down to a sattle. 17:45pm. We hiked up a bit and picked a camp spot half way up Teepee N1 but it was crazy windy so we move up higher on lee side of the ridge but rocky. 18:00pm We moved rocks and build a nice platform for our tent, which took us a while to set up. 1km slow moving scramble.(elev. 2789m down to 2495m up to 2675m).

19:30pm managed to set up a tent and sit down for a dinner with great view of Rockies :)

Went to bed way too early woke up around mid night and saw lighting far northeast from us and glad it's no happening right here and went back to sleep.
