Felt better today, but the body was more run down.

Had a decent start, but Brad was always going to make up the 1 min and catch me early. Were running to #3 when we found Michael relocating. Showed them where it was, then they left me. They were out of sight after #6 and I started slowing down notably after #11. In the end, they were about 15 mins ahead. Wasn't caught by the 4th person, so hung onto 3rd. Nice course with an intriguing long leg from 11-12.

Had a poor run on Day 1 of the Belfast O-Ringen. Tired, lack of training, ill, altitude. Finished over 4 mins behind Michael.

Only mistake was at #3 where I didn't read the centre of the circle and circled around the control.

Flew back home. Flight arrived 1.5 late in Joburg, so very quick drive down to Belfast for the O-Ringen.

Skiing at Hoch Ybrig. Great conditions. Finished off by coming down the black run to Weglosen. Managed fine and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great skiing conditions, so much better than last week. Plenty of glide and high speed. Did the full 19km loop in 1h56 before doing a final 2km on the night loop.
