Out to Gladhouse with Andrew & Stephen on the bikes. Was an eventful cycle to say the least! I started off smug in my short sleeve top as it was pretty toasty tho it soon got colder and wetter. I was caked in muddy spray by the end.
Stephen got a puncture not long after Carrington so we stopped to help him and things spiralled downhill from then! First Stephen's spare inner tube had a hole so we tried my spare which again had a hole. Down to Andrew's spare which was fine until Stephen managed to stick a hole in it when reattaching it. We then used Andrew's patches to patch up the holes in the inner tube which turned out to be 3 and we thought all was good got the tube back on the wheel and began pumping it up. However, the patches wouldn't work and it wouldn't pump up. All this time it had gotten colder and wetter and we were freezing!
Stephen had to call his flatmate for a pick up and Andrew and I left him under a tree, cold, wet and looking very sorry for himself. We must have been stopped for an hour!
The rest of the ride was very wet and grim but made it back.
