Really horrible, don't think ive ever retired from an orienteering race but was so gone.

Was feeling really good today, started pretty decent with 1,2 and 3 being reasonably good. Had a good plan to 4, counting the tracks as I went up but counted one too many and was messing around in a bit of terrain that was nowhere near the control. Should have looked up to see the crags and as I relocated for about the 4th time I went high and eventually saw them. Really frustrated fumbled around below them for a while and eventually found the control. With this mistake in mind and the fact I could see the 18 who started after me just punching the control I sprinted off with no head and no plan for the next control...

Saw the middle ride and went down it thinking I was gonna spike it and get back into some flow. Saw the spur above and started to contour down going right past it through the white back into the disgusting brambles. Was running up and down all over the place panicking in the thick brambles honestly with no idea where I was and being too stubborn to relocate. Couple more falls and frustrations I could see it above me and punched it, stopped and contemplated going back to assembly.

Not wanting to retire I kept going but was dead and wasn't gonna bounce back and at 10 just went back through the fields to assembly. Not my day ;(

York uni selection- really quite scrappy and some dodge routechoices were made. Couldn’t really get any speed up, oh well.

Short one to keep the legs moving. Still quite tired but should be alright tomorrow.

First half Longniddry Sprint. Head to head with Felly, Alex and Tam. Good fun and fast.

Orienteering 11:19 [3] 3.15 km (3:36 / km)

Second half chasing start starting 6 secs after Felly. Another good one n pretty quick. Finished Just behind Alex.

Naughty sprintervals around Dean village with Alex. 30s start intervals on 1 & 3 and head to heads on 2 & 4.
1st not bad v technical, 2nd couple of silly mistakes, 3rd good and 4th another silly mistake. Quite close overall on the loops and some decent training.
