Orienteering race (Anza Borrego) 1:40:05 [5] ***** 12.34 km (8:07 / km) +291m 7:15 / km
18c (sick) shoes: Oroc X-Talon Shadow

Red Classic course. This was grueling both physically and mentally, and although I didn't make too many silly mistakes, I felt way too tired after this course then I should have been. I made some errors around 5 and 6 (found 6 before 5) but otherwise navigated relatively well. Starting to feel sick though...

Orienteering race (Anza Borrego) 59:38 [5] ***** 5.92 km (10:04 / km) +153m 8:55 / km
10c (sick) shoes: Oroc X-Talon Shadow

Maze-O at Anza Borrego. I felt extremely tired before this, but one GU and Clif Bar later I felt like I could probably run this thing. Mentally, however, I was a mess, and my navigation to the first few controls was basically running in the rough direction of the control. After a few bobbles, I got into the rhythm, aaaannnddd made an 11-minute error where I ran off of the map. Lovely!!! One or two facepalms later, I managed to get all of the controls since I had left the relatively easy ones for last, and my main troubles were getting people to let me pass by in the Slot Canyon. Thankfully I finished 22 seconds undertime, so that was nice. It was a good race, but losing first place by 5 minutes when I had made an 11-minute mistake was kinda sad... :)

Orienteering race (Anza Borrego) 1:19:19 [5] **** 11.44 km (6:56 / km) +253m 6:15 / km
22c shoes: Oroc X-Talon Shadow

Borrego Ram. Kept up with the main pack until about #4 and then ran relatively solo until the corridor where I caught up to a bunch of the faster runners who had made a mistake on the Corridor-O. I skipped 16 which felt kinda not worth it, but it was late in the course and I didn't see the advantage of skipping 18. It was a relatively solid race and I'm happy with how I felt physically while running it.
