The Long course at Bayfront Park. Pretty good clean run in my opinion, with a few minor bobbles where I was figuring out on which side of the thicket the control was placed. Still, speedwise I felt great until #17 where the legs between controls got much longer and my legs got tired, But around #20, I got back to my original pace, so that's good. The thing is when I run around my neighborhood, my runs are always extremely steep. This park, on the other hand, was almost utterly flat. However, the next few meets are gonna be in Tahoe and Calero, so steep runs will definitely help.

Orienteering race 11:52 [5] **** 1.95 km (6:05 / km) +75m 5:06 / km

The Fog-O course at Bayfront Park. Basically, the map was blank except for a small area around each of the controls and you usually had to take a heading/bearing to get to each control. Fortunately, I know this park like the back of my hand since I used to train here a few years ago, so I barely used my compass. Another version is where the map is utterly blank except for the control lines and circles, and you have to pace count/take a bearing to find the controls.

My usual tempo run done backward. Tried doing the slalom/serpentine thing again, and it was surprisingly challenging, but fun. Didn't bowl over a guy this time too, so that was good. I'm probably gonna do this on most of my other runs since it's like the only flat spot where I can get a mile or so in (even if I do have to run in a serpentine fashion).

A very short tempo run. I decided to wind through the quiet and complex community roads on the way back to "simulate" quick decision making and keeping one's pace even while doing so, but I managed to hit a dead end and almost bowl over a clueless guy getting out of his car so it probably wasn't the best idea. :/
