Pretty stoked - unfortunately switched grade at last minute so officially only won M20. Should cement a WOC Sprint spot! :) :) :)

Running (45 easy) 44:25 [2] 10.3 km (4:19 / km) +167m 3:59 / km
shoes: Vivo Barefoot Black

Upped the rest recently to allow my foot to settle fully for nationals. Today was a test of form, foot strength and fitness. Mentally tried to force myself to run with a slightly longer stride and bounce a little more. Incredibly this worked, and my form steadily got better and better through the run! My foot also held up, for the first time not even the slightest niggle on the road. Fitness wise, I have definitely improved a lot even in a week - I was comfortable with an easy pace of 4:15-4:20 up until halfway which bodes well for nationals. Confident I can slip back into a full training load after nationals although I'm off to Wanaka straight after for a week for a pre JWOC camp!

Orienteering race (AOS 2 - No Compass) 52:19 [3] **** 7.6 km (6:53 / km) +231m 5:59 / km

Back with a vengenance. Had a rubbish 3 months with sickness then injury. Lost a lot of fitness which still isn't back yet. However I seem to have discovered a lot of strength and speed in terrain that has come seemingly from no where. Coach Paul said run only steady effort yet I feel this would have been race pace 3 months ago...

My desire is super high and somehow I'm running fast even if I'm breathing a little harder. Bring on nationals next weekend, I want an elite title.
