Its been almost 2 years since we were out at Highland. Added in C loop for the first time, and it wasnt as terrible as the description makes it out to be. Actually, I think it might be my favorite of the three loops.

Still not good at more technical single track, and got very frusterated on the first half of A and B, but once I got more into the groove i started having fun. I think cages defintely make it harder than clips.

Igor's streamer course at Winnewana

Parked at the suggested spot but failed to read the rest of the instructions, so we thought we were at the finish. Ran around a bit but nothing made sense... off to a good start. Figured it out eventually.

1 and 2 went fine. Wasn't moving super fast but fast enough and getting into the map.

3 took a little looking before i spoted the streamer, but not too bad.

4 tripped me up. Purposfully took it slow and tried to follow features, but the first unexpected rock pile I came across got me all confused about where I was. Tried to use the vegetation boundaries, but they were super vague, and it turned out I was at a different pine stand than I thought anyway. Corrected eventually, but several minute error.

5 I remembered from one of Jess's courses.

6 tried to take hte high route, but got sucked into the private trail, eventually convinced myself to go down the hill.

7-8 no problems

9 - thought i hit W of the W swamp, but I was actually between them, so I turned the wrong way at first

10 - nice game trail most of the way

11 - back to the same area. Thought i would recognize the pine stand W of the control since I had been here for 4, but I came up short and then slowed way down before getting there.

12-14 - no problem

15 - overshot E, and then had to follow the reentrant all the way back west.

16 - up to the trail for the first time. then across the saddle

17 - back over the saddle to the trail and pound it out.

Fun course, a little frusterating at times to find the streamers, and didnt move my normal speed in the woods due to the undergrowth and trying to avoid twisting ankles. Covered head to toe so hopefully avoided poison ivy. Mosquitoes werent too bad until I sat waiting for syd at the finish for 10 min.

Didnt have much of a plan, so I just ran where my legs took me. Decided to look for some dirt, but it took me 2 miles to get there and then it was only a mile long! Weaved through some small parks on the way back - Traver Creek, Dhu Varren Woods, and then Oakwoods. Dhu Varren woods is some beautiful white woods, but just a single trail that goes from the road to the rail road.
