Campground to Single track, loop of single track, and back with Syd and Brenda. I led the first half and did well except for some steep ups with rocks and roots. Learned how to deal with sand from brenda.

Then brenda took over and she shot off so it was a game of chase. I was able to keep up for the most part, just pushing much harder than I ever convince myself to do when i dont have someone pushing me. Good for me, need to get to that point where i go faster on my own.

Score O by Mr. W at Yankee Springs

Planned a CCW route to hit up the toughest nav and biggest hills in the NE first. Took off down a trail following Tom and Tim who had the same first point, but i realized I was not going the right direction on the trail. They plunged off into the woods as if we were on the right trail, but I kept going and ended up at 49 instead of 54... Well, guess I'm doing my planned route in reverse.

Actually worked out pretty well, because I was able to move really well for the first half, the Nav wasnt too tricky, and the woods were great for running. By the time I made it up to the North section of the map it was pretty clear I wasnt going to clear it, so I skipped a 50 before heading into the NE section.

I swallowed and choked on a bug and started gagging and almost puking, which got in my head and slowed me down through this section. But the nav was trickier, so slow probably helped me more than hurt me. Skipped another 50 but was able to pick up all the high pointers except 72 in the bottom of the soup bowl.

Leaving 78, my last control, I got really confused on the trails and started panicking with less than 10 min left. I ended up on a different trail than I intended, but figured out which one it was and made it back with a few minutes to spare.

skipped 340 points, 4x50 and 2x70. Pretty good since 50's were the lowest pointers.

1500/1840 points, 24/30 c, 4/46 behind Aiden, Eaton, and Igor.

Most proud of the fact that I actuall traveled less distance than Syd and still beat her. that never happens.

Lazymans QR from Livelox - Some of my cleanest tracks, i'll take it!

Slow flag pick up. 2/4 were ones I hadnt gotten to during the score o, so that was nice. Bobbled the last one even though I had been there and was using the same approach, go figure,

Super fun Twilight/Night O Sprint. Wasnt really dark enough to need the headlamp, but I wore it and it was on.

The pack took off at a fair clip to 1 and 2. Then Tizoc led to three and the front group all bypassed 3 and ended up at 8. Tizoc punched and kept going, I checked the number, realized the mistake, and led the pack back to 3. The back pack led by steve had gotten in right, so 4 and 5 was passing them again. Funny how group think takes over especially in a sprint. Just goes to show the nav is more important than the speed!

The rest went pretty smoothly. I was able to keep up with Tom and Tim with slightly more precise nav, but a bobble on 16 along with burning lungs lost me a minute at the end.

SO MUCH FUN. +1 for sprints, +1 for night o, +1 for bonus events. Thanks Mr. W!

Biked from home to ILRA, did a loop of Blue + Yellow ST, and then biked home a slightly different way. Mixed dirt and pavement both ways.

Started out a little on the chilly side despite waiting until almost 11 to leave, but shed layers when we got to ILRA for the single track, and didnt need them on the way back. SE wind meant the ride out was a little tougher than the ride back.

Overall felt pretty good, and super happy I can do 45 mi on the mtn bike in may. My quads were screaming by the end tho, and took a good half hour to feel back to normal. I did switch from clipless to flats with cages, and didnt adjust my seat until about mile 35, so I think that played a role. Crab cake eggs benedict for breakfast and general unhealthyness with parents visiting this weekend probably didnt help either.

Ate an RX bar (edible but nothing special), a pack of chocolate covered coffee beans (+10 for eatability, probably a lower score for actual nutritional value), a few ecaps, a few gummies. Drank ~ 30 oz water and a gatorade. 12ish lb pack. 55F with sun and wind!
