Real Orienteering race (Eppalock) 1:01:57 [4] *** 7.5 km (8:16 / km) +175m 7:24 / km

State Event at Kimbolton.
Expected result on all but two legs. On the first I fell, hurt my leg somewhat and staggered on to first control. Dropped about five places.
On the seventh I realised that this was really the only leg on the course with any insecurity. I saw the potential error and then made it anyway. Lost four minutes by running too far past the correct gully because I was lower down the traverse slope than I expected. Silly.
Other than that the navigation was spot on. Somewhat benign.
Soft tissue injury in the right leg is gradually improving, though I fear each event I run I put it back a little. I can't cope with any unexpected mis-steps. The shock to the thigh is quite painful.

Diamond Hill South. Typical Nigel course setting., Five courses using 14 controls. I doubt this will be bettered (or worsered). With so few controls there was obviously some compromises on the courses. The navigation was not highly challenging, being mostly about route choice. No errors. No injury exacerbation on course, though I did manage to do some damage collecting controls.

Trying to do a little longer distance. Will see how the muscle tear copes. On the positive side, my performance at running indicates that once the injury heals, I should be able make rapid improvements with a modest effort. [Translation- I am very unfit]
