Real Orienteering race (Chewton Diggings) 1:06:46 [4] *** 8.3 km (8:03 / km) +300m 6:49 / km
spiked:7/8c shoes: Kayana White/green

A true long style course on the right sort of country- lots of good sized hills and quite a few tracks. Some punters don't like this, thinking Chewton is only for Middle Distance, describing this as a runners course. This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the long discipline. Its a tough nuts course. Course 2 at 6.8 k and 300 metres climb was tough. I didn't have any navigational failings, but I finished unsure I had chosen the correct routes and also feeling like it had been a hard day. Thats correct for long.

Was going to be a longer run, but a bleeding nose put paid to that. After stoushing the flow, I headed home the shortest route through Rosalind Park. Blood all over my face meant I got a few uncertain glances.
