Real Orienteering race (Kangaroo Crossing) 1:14:01 [3] ***** 6.5 km (11:23 / km) +94m 10:37 / km
spiked:14/17c shoes: Blue innov-8

Rowdy Flat. Not a perfect run and not Robinson Crusoe on that. Two minor mistakes on 3 (thumbing error) and 10. But two significant mistake son the long leg, losing somewhere near 10 minutes. Great experience though.

Kangaroo Crossing. Fun area, makes orienteering seem more like an adventure. Its the sparsity of tracks that adds to the flavour, plus the granite, and the low visibility. Two minor wobbles on controls 2 and 6. Was not that sure where I was in much of the long leg, but the plan to find myself at the end of the leg worked like a charm, so the uncertainty was a purely personal insecurity. Not sure if the direct option was the best.

Black mountain third day in a row. Twenty seconds less than yesterday which isn't so much training effect as becoming more accustomed to pain. Now off to our Xmas two days.
