Note
(rest day)

Rest day because the running component is small. Saving up the running for cooler days from tomorrow. And this mixed session is so much fun on a warm day that it doesn't feel like exercise.
8 AM

Back, core and achilles 15:00 [1]
weight:78.6kg

10 AM

MTB (Not O) 23:00 [2] 9.5 km (2:25 / km)

Ride to Crusoe

Running 20:30 [3] 3.3 km (6:13 / km)
shoes: Asics

One lap of Crusoe Res.
11 AM

Swimming 12:00 [3] 0.2 km (1:00:00 / km)

Three buoy triangle swim, competing against radio controlled model yachts. Yes. They were faster than me. I did some sidestroke so I could watch them regally breeze past.

MTB (Not O) 21:30 [4] 9.5 km (2:16 / km)

Ride home along Bendigo Creek bike path. Lucky not to pay dearly for wearing totally inappropriate pants. Pleased to average over 26 kph on this leg. They were still soaking wet at the end of the ride. Hardest transition remains bike to run for me. There was a little run from swim to bike and running after swimming seemed much easier.
6 PM

Swimming 15:00 [3] 0.3 km (50:00 / km)

Golden Square pool seemed a good way to spend the end of a hot day.

Saturday Jan 28, 2012 #

Running 1:35:00 [3] 13.35 km (7:07 / km) +230m 6:33 / km
shoes: Asics

Crusoe-Marne--High Level-No. 7-Crusoe. Forty cars in the car park when I finished. Something about training for a Mudder event next weekend. Can't say it looked fun. Funny yes, fun no.

Swimming 12:00 [2]

Time a guess. Three yellow buoy triangle at Crusoe. Working up.

Friday Jan 27, 2012 #

Back, core and achilles 15:00 [1]

MTB (Not O) 18:17 [1] 8.1 km (2:15 / km)

The reason for the slow recent rides becomes apparent... a brake pad dragging on the rim when it should be disengaged. I've been too busy blaming my body or the wind and not the bike.

MTB (Not O) 18:40 [4] 8.1 km (2:18 / km)

Amazing how much difference fixing the brakes has made.

Thursday Jan 26, 2012 #

Running 1:02:37 [3] 9.37 km (6:41 / km) +190m 6:04 / km
shoes: Asics

Really enjoyable circuit up behind Crusoe. Followed by a 200 metre swim.

8 AM

MTB (Not O) 21:40 [3] 8.2 km (2:39 / km)

6 PM

MTB (Not O) 22:07 [4] 8.1 km (2:44 / km)

How is it that there seems to be a head wind each leg of the commute most days this week?

Tuesday Jan 24, 2012 #

Back, core and achilles 15:00 [1]
weight:78.2kg

De-massing progressing steadily.
9 AM

MTB (Not O) 20:35 [3] 8.1 km (2:32 / km)

1 PM

MTB (Not O) 45:00 [3] 16.3 km (2:46 / km)

6 PM

MTB (Not O) 40:00 [2] 9.2 km (4:21 / km)

The slow way home through some very rough terrain with intermittent tracks. More technical riding than I could manage. Some walking was inevitable.

7 AM

Back, core and achilles 15:00 [1]
weight:79kg

6 PM

Running 41:23 [3] 7.25 km (5:42 / km) +50m 5:31 / km

Two Reservoir Loop followed by the now regular swim in Crusoe Res. Lots of irregulars at the swimming platform. Quote: This is boring. Lets go and have a smoke. From a 12-13 year old boy.
