MTB (Not O) 1:01:00 [3] 19.15 km (3:11 / km)

The triathlon route. Ride to Crusoe, run round lake, swim and ride home. Not logging swim until I can manage more than 5 minutes.

Running 19:48 [3] 3.5 km (5:39 / km) +10m 5:35 / km
shoes: Asics

I find the transition from riding to running so hard.

Running long 1:33:45 [3] 13.35 km (7:01 / km) +210m 6:31 / km
shoes: Asics

Crusoe, up the ridge, along ridge to Marne, back along ridge and down to No. 7, back round Crusoe Res. Longest run in some time, and I think it qualifies as a long run... by current standards. Finished with a refreshing jump into the lake and came across Bob Cameron doing his long swim. I admitted I couldn't imagine a 1 k swim and he admitted the same for a 90 minute run so we left each other mutually impressed.

Trend spotting:
1. Three people in line at counter of local liquor outlet, and all three buying pear or apple cider. I have seen this remarked upon in the business press, with beer sales stagnant or falling and cider sales rising rapidly. It seems cider importation was a response to the alco-pops tax, but it has been picked up by an altogether unintended market segment- older generation rather than female late teens. And a certain Swedish brand is topping sales.
2. Seen three times this week. Very largish women out 'running' with very fit looking male personal trainers. This morning it was hill intervals on a 5 metre hill. I suppose its a credible method of maintaining enthusiasm.

Bendigo Creek in normal 'first thing in the morning the last thing my body wants to do is run' mode.

MTB (Not O) 19:03 [3] 8.1 km (2:21 / km)

Glass half full sign of the week:

London, Paris, New York, Long Gully.

Beside the Long Gully bike path. Seems to be the outcome of a community project. Another nearby sign shows a phoenix rising from the ashes. Appropriate for an area burnt in 2009.
