A loosen-up run through the Whirakee. I think it was at its peak today. For the confused a short exposition follows.
Golden Wattle sprays can be impressive.
But they are generally spindly and introverted plants that live in isolation.
Whirakee has smaller balls of flower, thinner leaves. However, individual plants are much more compact and eye-catching than golden wattle.
But it is a social plant, preferring to spend time in the herd.
The result can be vistas of yellow through the forest.
And running along wattle lined tracks.
It should be hard to miss the Whirakee Louise if you get out there today or this weekend. It gets over its peak very quickly.
