Walking 4:30:00 [2] 9.8 km (27:33 / km) +300m 23:54 / km

The perfect alternative to the local MTBO event on a blue sky day. Control site taping on North Kooyoora. Yes, the Bermuda Triangle event is coming up again. I found this stint really tiring... mentally. All the controls are now identified with confidence, taped and described. I became confused on three controls and spent a fair bit of time coming in from multiple directions and making sense of it all. One of these controls is a high point at the end of a long leg. Should really please the masses. Course 1 can expect two loops, 6.7k and 21 controls.

Real Orienteering race (Black Jack Gully) 36:06 [2] 3.94 km (9:10 / km) +70m 8:25 / km
shoes: Nike Trail

Ian Johnson's Micr-O event on Black Jack Gully. Like last year, it was his birthday and a cake was presented. Like last year, I decided the map needed to be remapped to bring it up to ISSOM standard. Great terrain. This time next year I will probably be able to add... like last year, I didn't get round ot that mapping task.

Running 28:00 [2] 4.0 km (7:00 / km) +40m 6:40 / km
shoes: Nike Trail

Collecting controls. Had to do a second trip out for a control someone had forgotten. Turned out Ian had forgotten he had put the control in the box of kites instead of controls. Oh well. Put that one in with Ian's other achievement, rendering the SI printout box inoperable by fiddling with the settings and getting it back to 'default settings'. Unfortunately, SI doesn't seem to use default settings. Now we have to somehow get it back to working settings. Everyone else manages to use the box without fiddling and it works just fine.

Running 42:16 [2] 7.11 km (5:57 / km) +40m 5:47 / km

Trying to get back into a running regime. Took it easy logging tracks in the Weslford forest and herding a very large mob of kangaroos.
