A navigationally easier course after Saturday, but with more grunt. I went harder partly because there was less thinking, partly because I was feeling more comfortable about the hamstring situation, and towards the end because I had Ian Davies hanging on. That was my only navigational blemish. I concentrated too hard on getting away up the last set of hills and chose the direct more navigationally risky route on the assumption he would go the road. Of course, I came unstuck and didn't relocate as well as was possible. Lost about three minutes, all self-inflicted. That blemish meant i finished 8 seconds behind Roch. I blew one of those rare chances to finish ahead of him because he made more mistakes than myself.
Better doing this than painting the house, which resumed on return.
