This was the fast run for the week. More than a minute slower than last week. Thats breaking the trend. In my defence:
1 It was raining and cold and I wanted it over quickly, so no warm up.
2 Felt it necessary to listen to the country hour whilst running. It was being broadcast from the shores of Lake Alexandrina, where irrigation politics was in its usual evidence.
1. We are badly done by.
2. No-one understands or cares about our problem.
3. We have no interest in hearing about problems elsewhere.
4. Its someone else's fault upstream (or downstream or in Canberra or in Melbourne or whatever).
Its not that the Lake people are different. Listen to our own 'Plug the Pipe' group. Listen to Danny whatshisname representing Mildura blockies. Read the submissions by the NSW rice growers about environmental flows. Dare I say it... listen to Paul and the others representing the environment. Some of thes epeople do actually understand the issues, but they dare not be fully open with their constituency or they won't have a constituency. Same in Federal Parliament. My respect for Penny Wong has risen. I have lost respect for Xenophon. None for Shep rep Sharmane.
It was hard to concentrate on pushing hard whilst listening..
