Running long 1:25:49 [3] 14.15 km (6:04 / km) +90m 5:53 / km
shoes: Brooks Thingummyjigs

Started the run feeling like anything else would be a better idea. But after an hour I didn't feel too bad, until the last 10 minutes when the lack of endurance training really showed. I suppose that means I ran just far enough to get the desired training effect. Any further and the knees and ankle would have been sore. So, improvement at a gradual rate.
Interesting experience of the day. Two small dogs found out in the wilds of Stumpy Gully. Quite clearly distressed. We ran them to the nearest dam where they went fpr a drink and an immersion. They followed us home. Julie rang the number on the tag and it seems the owners are in NSW. The neighbour who was feeding the dogs left the gate open.

Usual weekly test run. Entering my sixth week of recovery training, so by theory I have three more weeks before running starts feeling fun again. Today wasn't fun, but was very surprised that I was 15 seconds faster than last week. That's a slight improvement on last week when I judged that I was reaching a threshold. That threshold feels very close now. Progressive rates for this run:
6.06 4.54 4.45 4.34 4.27 4.24
It was good to be able to run without having to stop for traffic lights. They were a major feature of yesterday's Adelaide run.

Running 57:25 [3]
shoes: Brooks Thingummyjigs

Got up early for a run in Adelaide. Started in the parks beside Greenhill Road, and decided that the luxury of running around on lush grass (how, given the state of the Murray, and SA's desperate pleas for water from the other states late last year) was too good to cut short. So did the circuit around Adelaide. Not enough time to go fully north, so cut across North Terrace which was concrete. Then got into a bit of a maze with the safety barriers for the Clipsal V8 race. Sort of like the Melb Grand Prix but without the 30 million subsidy. I think SA wins that one. Nice running mostly.
