Walking 2:00:00 [2] 11.5 km (10:26 / km) +1100m 7:04 / km

Sam and Elise did a short walk over part of the run I did two days ago (Chalten to Lago Capri and return) which left me free to tackle something a bit more substantial.

Power walked from Chalten up to the summit "Loma del Pliegue Tumbado". Total climb was 1100m (400 to 1490). Reached the summit in about 1hr 45m then walked around a little and climbed/scrambled down the very steep summit pyramid to get to the 2 hours.

The weather was great - scattered cloud and no wind. The views were stupendous. I could see the summit of Fitzroy wreathed in cloud and in the other direction pretty much the whole of Lago Viedma (plus everything else in between).

I passed a lot of hikers on the way up taking advantage of such a good day.

Running 53:00 [2] 9.5 km (5:35 / km)

From a bit below the summit I ran back to Chalten finishing beside the bakery that sells 6 pastries for about $3 (to be fair I left 3 for Elise and Sam).

This was fun - probably about 900m of descending and about 30m climbing. Much of the trail was pretty smooth - maybe 3k's out of 9 were very rocky and twisting.

My legs are surprisingly ok (3 hours later).
